I love the brown Boston outfit, I just wish they carried over into the cutscenes.

Speaking of, I didnt realize you got weapons out of certain chests. I was looking at my rack and saw weapons I didnt even know I had. I then found George Washington's Sword in a chest near a fort. I guess I need to pay better attention to what comes out of those chests. I've been running with the same set up the whole game

Thats my favorite too.

I thought you only got weapon recipes?

I'm definately gonna have to check my basement tonight.

I still love the Tomahawk the best though, eventhough I have a sweet sword from the Gamestop pre-order mission.

Kirksplosion says:
Heh, yeah. I had no idea you could change clothes at the store or change weapons in the basement...

That's the only thing that sucks, I thought my outfits would carry over to the cutscenes, when they didn't I just changed my outfit back to match.

OP says:
I've only acquired weapon recipes from chests so far; I just don't have the crafters yet to be able to make most of them.

same here, I can't craft anything lol.

I'm still getting a hold of all the crafting and convoys.

Ha, same. I'm on Sequence 8 with only one artisan, three assassins, and no convoys (lost the one I had).

i only bought 1 weapon and ony because it looked cool. Its a blunt weapon but i forgot the name and i love it. It was used in the movie: Last of the Mohicans.

StriderNeo15 says:
I think defending and attacking the convoys is a lot of fun, but otherwise don't seem worth the effort lol.

I get $7500 from chests and then $20 for a convoy full of Honey lol.

I keep forgetting that I have assassin's, just been running around solo. Don't really need any help - Connor is a bad ass.

I use them constantly...but just to go out on missions on the eastern seaboard. Have yet to use their abilities, lol.

i finished the game with only 1 assassin at level 1 and i just realized doing homestead missions will level up my artisans which i started doing last night.

I really need to continue with the story, still at the very beginning of Sequence 6, spent the last 2 days messing around in the frontier and homestead.

OP says:
I've had to defend 3 convoys so far myself (no recruits yet), which basically amounts to you and 8 guards versus 15 redcoats (I guess it's supposed to be an elimination race).

The game seems to be lack a bit in explanations; I struggled through The Chase before I realized upon spawning on the pier at Homestead that there was a book next to the Harbormaster where you could buy ship upgrades, lol.

OP says:
Well, pelts seem to be a big money maker for convoys. A perfect bear pelt goes for 888 (with 0% tax) to Hancock's store, and if you max convoy capacity, you can fit 8 of those on.

waxc3 says:
yep i get like 23,000 everytime my convoy returns. i send em out nonstop! :)
i dont bother defending them. if i lose one i just write it off and craft a new wagon. new wagons cost nearly nothing at all.

i never got a weapon from a chest. only seen recipes for them.
best i can tell, you will be well into the new york missions by the time you can have enough artisans to make those things.

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 9, 2012 8:49:14 AM PST
Kirksplosion says:
I didn't know you could craft a new wagon. Wonder if I'm missing the recipe for it. Does each artisan specialize in something, or can they all make anything, just requires time (like the assassin recruits)?

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 9, 2012 8:51:54 AM PST
StriderNeo15 says:
You need specific artisans for different recipes, sometimes 2 different ones, maybe even 3, but I haven't gotten that far yet.

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 9, 2012 8:53:03 AM PST
OP says:
The artisans are specialists; Lance (the first one) does a lot of stuff with wood. The recipes globe in the crafting tab gives you a list containing info for every craftable item you know how to make (includes info on what artisans and levels are needed, and what materials are used). I believe Lance can make you a couple new convoys right off the bat, as long as you have the money and materials for it. All crafting is instant.

waxc3 says:
doesnt require time. but each artisan that moves out to your area will have frontier missions. once you do a few of those (or maybe only one for some people) they will upgrade.
it will then say that this artisan can now do whatever skill, or hunt for more animals, or will carry these crafting items now.

weapons and the expensive items seem to all require two different artisans.

theres a few treasure chests behind houses or in forts will award you with like 10 to 15 recipes each time you find em.

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 9, 2012 8:55:56 AM PST
OP says:
I just don't have enough pelts in reserve to write off the loss of a convoy at the moment. It'll probably be better later in the game.

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 9, 2012 8:57:20 AM PST
Kirksplosion says:
Really wish they had redesigned the crafting interface - far from smooth or intuitive, IMO.

And I've only had one artisan on the homestead for a long time. Am I missing something, or do I just have to advance the storyline to get more? I'm only just now getting to New York.
