MrFoxhound says:
Gears of War and Half Life 2 are not post-apocalyptic. They are combating a foreign invader. They're war games, not post-apocalyptic. Of course this being Forbes, and Pokemon being on there make this list completely stupid from the start.

So you don't consider humanity being crushed under the boot of an alien invasion to be "apocalyptic?"

So they just let anybody who's played pong at least twice write for the video games section of Forbes, right?

I'd like to add Enslaved to that list.

There reason for putting Pokemon first:

"Japan entered into a nuclear war, one which it lost and the fallout devastated the countryside. In the conflict, nearly all able-bodied adult men were killed. Only the old and the corrupt remained behind in a world largely full of husbandless women and fatherless children.

Something strange began happening to the local wildlife. They began mutating, acquiring elemental powers that could devastate both humans and animals alike. Their radioactive evolution even allowed them to speak, but they could only utter one word: their own name.

In a largely lawless society, children are forced out of their homes at an early age. They're handed a monster of their own and taught to train it to battle the others around them. Children flood the countryside challenging each other to barbaric dog fights, while the all-controlling Rocket organization attempts to coalesce power by capturing the most deadly of the creatures.

Just when it seems like all the beasts have been captured, a hundred more types spring up from the radioactive earth every few years without fail."

The lone comment on this article sums it up nicely:

"Place the Pokemon on the 1st place in this list is the unexpected joke :)"

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Where's Fallout 3?

McAwesomeo says:
They used a picture of Fallout 3, but used the series as a whole under the blanket name Fallout.

That's on the site itself. There's a blurb like that for each game.

It's a fan joke that's been getting tossed around for awhile. I can't pull anything up since it's all blocked at work, but if you take a look around you see some ideas.

RE isn't post-apocalyptic either. The rest of the world carries on just fine outside of the few contaminated zones.
