I saw this while reading IGN's article last night. He said <3 hours for extensive use and <5 hours for non extensive use. So if you are playing ZombiU and have to use the game pad at all times, you can probably only play for about 3 hours, assuming you have it at 100% charge. The game pad always takes 2.5 hours to get a full charge.

However, the Pro controller has an 80 hour charge...Which probably means ~30-40 hours.

I think this is going to cause problems.

Can't charge while playing?

Not completely sure, it didn't say that. Also depends if you are close enough to your console while playing.

I sometimes charge PS3 controllers from my laptop while playing. I don't see any reason for the Wii U. I'm not seeing the issue here.

Whew, that's less than my Vita...

I use my USB to charge sometimes too while playing, not a concern for me. It's a concern for people that don't sit 3 feet from their TV.

Regardless, a 3 hour charge is beyond sad.

Saw my first TV spot for the Wii U last night. It was the commercial for the system and NSMB U. I thought they did a good job of showing not only how fun it is, but also that its a NEW system. SO if theres any confusion (which im sure there will be) those people are just ignorant. They also highlighted how you can play games on the gamepad while someone else (Mom) watching TV (Dancing with the Stars)

Of course, because the Vita has no gamez.™

Dude, the Vita is a battery champ. It really impresses me in that dept.

Well technically the vita has an all day charge, because you won't be playing it.

Yup. That was the subtle joke I was hinting at.

Didn't someone post awhile ago that the gamepad would have around 80 hours of charge life?

I don't play anything for more than 2 hours. My care meter on this issue is nil.

No, that's the pro controller. Which is still BS, more like 30 hours.

I agree. I've put about 4-5 hours into RO and about half of that was online since my last charge. I still have about an hour of playtime left before I need to think about charging it.

Lucky you, I get about 3 hours out of the Vita. This thread is old news, BTW, they said this at the last Nintendo direct.

Sorry, I mean Nintendo is d0000med!

Hope Im still able to make a decent profit on my WiiU preorder before more of this 'type' news comes out

-Many or most games 720p (not 1080p)

-Certain games/developers claiming ports looking better on the PS3/Xbox360 (6yr consoles btw)
etc, etc, etc

The only way to play Nintendo games is to buy Nintendo consoles. It doesn't matter to people on the VGF if they are just buying a beefed up PS3. I love my PS3, why not get one that plays Nintendo games too!

News it out, people don't care.

And by people, I mean non-fanboys. Doug and his kind don't count.

Actually it's been confirmed you can charge while playing.

I am in a similar boat. If I get 2 straight hours of play without interuption from the wife and/or kids.... color me happy. Not too mention I am sure the tablet can be charged and played at the same time for those with more time than I apparently have.
