How are you guys enjoying the Wii U to its fullest so quickly? There's a 1GB+ sized first day patch already released. Thunder fast Wi-Fi?
No access to the eShop before update, nor Wii compatibility, nor voice chat, nor data transfer.

Hey Saskamazon. I's very easy to hook up. Took me about 15 minutes.

You don't need any of those features on the first day. On the first day, all you need to play in NintendoLand, Mario, ZombieU, whatever you got, offline. That patch can be installed after you are finished playing.

Well, sounds like you need to get an HDMI switch. They aren't that expensive.

Speaking of Dreamcast, there are many (as of yesterday) here on Amazon for around $50-$60. Not sure how that stacks up against other venues like ebay, but seems like a good deal for somebody wanting an older collectible system.

Shockingly, about a year and a half ago I got one for $10 from Amazon Warehouse, minty fresh. Just ordered it to have another spare. You can never have enough Dreamcast's.

That is pretty awesome. It's on my list of things to grab sometime before years end.

I definitely recommend. It's a fun system to collect for. I'll admit I played a few games through other means before I was able to find them for an acceptable price, though. Many of the shmups can be pretty costly and take a while to find for a decent price. I definitely recommend checking out the recently released Gunlord from NGDev if you like old school run 'n guns. The graphics are so old school and awesome. :)

I'll check it out for sure. Thanks for the recommendation!

That is some smart thinking there guys. If you are thinking about buying an obsolete, out-dated game console you could save a lot of money by just buying a Dreamcast today instead of a Wii-U. The Wii-U is basically being marketed as a retro console with a tablet controller, but at a premium price point. If you are not the type of person who has to have the newest thing right when it releases, you could just buy a different retro console today to satisfy your craving, then get the Wii-U a few years down the road when it's going for 99$ new.

I've been playing ac3 exclusively today. Walmart never stocked any games that weren't already released, so I'm just going to get Darksiders 2 from amazon.

I got mine for about $28 back in '09.

So between screwing around on Nintendo Network, trying out some games, my wife playing some games and having some friends and family over to check it out I think that Wii U was used about fourteen or fifteen hours today. I'm not totally sure because I slept a little while my wife was playing.

We had two preorders from GameStop and one from WalMart. My brother-in-law bought one from us this evening so we have one left that is still sealed.

I don't see how any of that would really affect people enjoying their games. It seems like you're grasping at straws here.

What about virtual games you downloaded to your Wii, can you transfer those games onto the Wii U console?

" . If you are thinking about buying an obsolete, out-dated game console"

That describes every game console past and future.
