Pretty cool! I don't know how many copies of Mega Man 2 I have, but I may have to purchase it yet again to have it on the go!

Remember when I said that Capcom "hoped" to get Mega Man 1-6 on the 3DS eShop in the US at some point? Well it looks like they figured it out.

The original Mega Man will hit the eShop on December 27th, and the rest will follow suit at some point in 2013 (with Mega Man 2 slated for February 7).

Nice! Played the original but didn't beat it, loved the second, played the third then lost interest when they started having bosses like Dust Man. I look forward to revisiting the series.

Ever since the first game came out, I've tried to finish it. I finally did it when the first 7 or 8 games were re-released on the PS2, lol! The Dr. Wily stages of Mega Man 1 are unbelievably difficult.

Oh man, this is great! Perfect games on the go, I could play the first four pretty much every day.

Yeah, that giant thing that pulled itself apart and flew around in pieces kicked my ass a lot. I don't remember exactly where in the Wily stages I got stuck but I know I never beat it.

Hell, I played Mega Man without reading the manual and one day I pressed Select and was stunned we could change powers.

I could never go back and play the earlier games after playing 4. Charging your shot, sliding, Rush... I just feel so handicapped playing 1 or 2 after that.

The Yellow Devil? That thing is such a pain.

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 17, 2012 8:54:09 AM PST
Yeah, I forgot he was called Yellow Devil because Nintendo forced Capcom to call him Rock Monster in the US. He sucked.

Mega Man sucks.
It's too hard

GarionOrb says:
Yes, that's the one that made the game an exercise in frustration. PLUS, you have to fight him TWICE before the end!

Benpachi says:
I hate that thing so much, it's the reason I've only beaten Mega Man once.

That Emu Kid says:
In Megaman 2 I always got stuck at the part in Wily's castle where you enter in a ladder on the bottom right and have to exit on a ladder in the top left, with absolutely nothing in between. You have to use the Rush powers, but I always screwed it up, ran out of energy, and rage quit.

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 17, 2012 9:07:03 AM PST
Are you sure you needed to use Rush in MM2?

Benpachi says:
Item 1/2/3, haha, not quite Rush but they serve the same purpose.

Never beat any of these as a kid. I may give #1 a shot on the 3DS because of save states!

... Rush wasn't in MM2, was he. Whatever, pachi knew what I meant.

We'd still have to buy the cartridges to pull the ROMs from. Unless you are advocating pirating the games which is generally frowned upon here.

It would be nice to have portable versions of them, but it's hard to compare to the PS2/GC/Xbox Megaman Anniversary Collection siting on my shelf. A port of that (and the X Collection) to PSP/Vita or 3DS would be perfect.

That's what I meant for ''free for years now''. No need to rebuy your stuff. Also, that's why I separated the hacking folks too.

Mega Man was great because it was hard. Generally, you found the boss that was easiest, then you had to find the boss that weapon was weak against. After a while once you learned how to beat the bosses, you can one shot everything, which was fun.

I think the best game in the series was 3, although I did spend a lot of time on 4 which was really good.

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 17, 2012 11:00:31 AM PST
Having spent like $90 for my Retrode to copy ROM files from my cartridges and then spent time pulling the files, it is just easier to spend $5 for the 3DS version.

Oh, and hackers are not the same as pirates. No need to separate hackers.

Alright, you might be pushing the boundaries of accessibility and just plain straight white knighthood there. And I said PSP hackers because the hacking itself enables piracy.
Now back to your argument, If I'm killing the industry by ''pirating'' Capcom games from the NES era then enlighten me as to how is that happening.
