Real all the way for me. Going out with the family to find one is my favorite part of Christmas.

McAwesomeo says:
Real or nothing. Though given the tiny size of my apartment I bought a Charlie Brown-like one this year.

It doesn't really matter to me but real trees are more of a mess.

Isn't the sent of pine half the point?

A natural beautiful puuurfectly shaped Charlie Brown Tree for Me*.....I just think that it's Sooo unnatural to whip a tree out-0-a-box and have it Spring to life!!!

No??? You don't like my preference???

Fake, real is just a hassle and I only have to buy it once.

I can spray that fake one with some pine scent if i want it

Having a real tree has its perks, but I much prefer the hassle-free pre-lit Christmas tree. Been using one for the past few years, and love how lazy it allows me to be.

FOGE says:
You guys will hate me but I dont put one up. I live alone and dont want the hassle. Now, when I have a house and a wife, I will definitely get one.

Real or fake, they both make me happy in the pants.

Never had a real tree but the new pre-lit, fake trees work wonders.

MrFoxhound says:
Usually real, but got a pre-lit fake one this year that came out of the box in 3 parts, pretty sweet, to try to cut down on the mess from pine needles and watering (even though I came up with a great idea to use a beer bong and zip tie it to the trunk up to the middle point so that it would be easier to water). Even though it's fake though, we bought these "scent-sicles" things that smell like a real tree and hang on the fake tree like ornaments.

Fake. My girlfriend loves scented candles so our house always smells Christmasy despite not having a real tree.

I prefer real from a cost standpoint alone. I will spend $5 on a permit and take the boys out for a little adventure to find the perfect tree. Hot chocolate will follow.

Am I the one buying and setting it up? If not, then real trees are nicer.

Actually I'm with Foge here - live alone and don't put up lights or a tree. I just help my parents put up theirs.

McAwesomeo says:
Yeah, I picked mine up when I was out helping my parents get theirs. If I hadn't been out there helping I wouldn't have gotten one for myself this year.

Fake. Having to try to get the vacuum cleaner to pick up the needles is a serious pita. Plus, it's cheaper. Not pre-lit one, however, because if it shorts out, you're hosed.

GUEST!! says:
I have wonderful memories of going out to cut fresh real trees with my family when I was a kid, but my wife is so prone to allergies that she would be miserable in her own house if we had a real one. So... We got fakies.
