To keep my Wii U or not keep my Wii U...that is the question.

So...reselling the Wii U has not turned out as profitable as I thought it was going to be. (I blame Nintendo and their stupid name they picked) The demand just isn't there. So I sold one Wii U deluxe for $385, had to pay $36 in ebay fees, and the buyer paid for the shipping.....I lost a dollar in the transaction.

So I now ask, should I keep the other one or just return it to Target? I have a huge backlog but I love gaming. I'll play it eventually but they might lower the price by the time I'm ready to get around to the Wii U.

Thoughts?

How much do you like first party Nintendo games? That should be your deciding factor. Because like every other Nintendo console post-SNES, it serves one purpose, and that purpose is playing first party Nintendo games.

It's a great system, I love it and now I have a sweet exclusive playing machine. I'm thinking about thinning down one of the last gen machines (PS3 or Xbox).

Wow, so Nintendo really is keeping a good stock of Wii U units available? My brother was able to get one this weekend without a problem, so basically scalpers are in trouble? I disagree about the "demand" not being there, I think the supply is what killed your profits, apparently Nintendo is replenishing stock quickly. Sorry about your luck Pacino, I would have guess scalping would have been more fruitfull. As for keeping it or not, do you want Nintendo games in HD? :)

I do want it. I just don't know if I want it for $350. If they stick to what PS and Msft did then they will increase the storage and decrease the price within the next year or so.

why did you buy TWO in the first place if you were always going to sell them?? if you sell very soon after buying then yeah - you can recoup most of the cost, but at the end of the day a 2nd-hand product will always sell for less than a new one from a store(!)

agreed with DDustiNN - if you literally like the console then keep it.

If you want to play it then keep it. If you do not want to play it then return it.

Keep it. You'll either be rewarded with great games or punished for trying to be one of those people who take advantage of people during the holiday season.

Yeah, I grabbed the Gears 3 console on the cheap, I'm falling back in love with it. So now I have 3 consoles I like and enough time to play about half of one.

Given current sales and Nintendo not increasing storage space on the Wii ever, I wouldn't worry too much about a new and better Wii-U. I am guessing it will be at least 2 years before we see a price drop. Certainly nobody knows for sure, but that is my best guess. Either way, good luck with your decision. :)

Yeah Nintendo mostly certainly did remove features as did Sony (memory card slot, ps2 BC, Linux Install), which worries me going forward. I do not like this trend at all. Thanks for the insightful post. It is an excellent point and I agree. The launch unit, much like the Wii and ps3, might be the best Nintendo's releases in terms of the U. :)

So... your blaming Nintendo that you couldn't screw other shoppers over by gouging the prices...

I love it when Scalpers lose money! That's the best Christmas present ever.

PacinoBully says:
First off....you're

Second off...I was doing it to cheapen the cost the second unit so that it didn't put as big of a dent in my wallet. No, I see nothing wrong in that. I tried, I failed, but sometimes it works. You have NEVER bought anything in your life because of the fact that you thought you could sell it for more than you paid for it?
