Nicos says:
Terry Gilliam - He's already nailed the "lived-in" Sci Fi look (12 Monkeys) and he would definitely have some great looking background aliens.

*edit* Oh yeah, and Brazil had the grungy sci-fi look too. Oh well. Back in the 80's he was approached at doing a Watchmen movie, and Star Wars is a way better fit for him than Watchmen ever would have been.

Peter Jackson is the obvious answer here.

That Emu Kid says:
No, that was in real time. If it was Snyde directing, it'd be all slo-mo and super awesome. Mogwai would love it.

Didn't Lucas already do this in Episode 3?

A buddy of mine really put that scene in perspective when he compared it to the fight between Homer and Snake on a car hood, and Snake stops them to say "Woah, this is incredibly dangerous". Why are we fighting over the apocalypse?

It's time for Spielberg to direct a Star Wars movie.

RJMacReady says:
Verhoeven just doesn't seem like a good fit to me, based on his other films.

I could see Duncan Jones. Also I'd be pretty cool with Rian Johnson.

He's definitely a wild card. I mean the man did Robocop but he also did Hollow Man.

SuperHiro says:
I just think a lot of the stuff Verhoeven did in Starship Troopers would work well in a Star Wars setting. I always wanted to see what Imperial propaganda videos looked like and I think he'd put a good spin on it -Shrug- I agree he's iffy though, hence the ":p" by his name.

We should probably avoid anyone who has won a razzie.

Cool - what else do you like to be wrong about?

I'd say Peter Jackson with J.J. Abrams as Executive Producer.
