Those darn crooks at Gamestop are at it again. First they steal little kids video games for pennies on the dollar and then resell them for full price. Now they have sold a family a used 3DS with porn on it. When will the madness end?

Ban the 3DS. Are we going to be powerless to this threat to our nation? Are we going to say the politics are too hard? Just ban the 3DS. Cuz it might have porn on it.

So, is that now an option? Porn or porn free depending on your preferences? Because if it is, I'm buying one.

I can't get too upset about this one. Yes, GameStop should have taken a moment to examine the contents of the memory card but I really wonder if this is worthy of national news. I would have taken a moment to make sure the 3DS works and while I was at it check the memory card as well. I don't think the parents are bad people for not thinking to do this but come on, the father is making this more dramatic than it needs to be. Unless it was midget clowns on swings porn I think that dad can come up with an age appropriate way to explain it. The kid will be fine.

Another legal point in this would be are the parents telling the truth? They themselves could just as easily put those pictures on the 3DS and then make this claim. I would hate if that were true but you do have people out there who are more then willing to do this and far more to get a cash settlement from a business.

Is this the second time something like this happens?
Because I'm positive I read something like this in here several months back.

It just seems odd to restrict one's pr0n viewing pleasure to a small screen that gives people headaches. Did this person not have a computer/TV/tablet?

Plus what did he do with his stylus? Yuck.

There was a priest who sold his DS and forgot to take his child porn off of it.

I'd complain that the video isn't in 3D.

Wow, this video is a little over the top. How is 9 pornographic images going to mess up a 5 year old kid? he probably didn't even know what was going on in the pictures. Unless this involves something that resembles chocolate, a fist, or electric clamps I don't see how this is a huge deal. Sure, GS should wipe all memory on devices before they are sold but it's probably an easy thing to miss.

What about...a fist made of chocolate that is gripping some electric clamps?

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 27, 2012 5:05:03 PM PST
For some reason I thought of Willy Wonka reading this.

K Archer says:
Here's a good question: why didn't the parents check to see if the 3DS the memory was wiped, or even if it was working? I'm assuming this was for a little kid(s), so the parents should have also set-up an account and all (especially with the internet connectivity. Parental controls at least)

If you get any used electronics at a store, check to make sure its working and the memory was wiped before leaving; that should be common sense. You'd be able to get a replacement or not buy if either wasn't done, but after leaving it could be sketchy. This goes double for electronics that you're giving to kids; you never know what it was used for/what was on it before you got it (and seriously, if you're getting this for a kid, or a gift in general, you do not want an old account on it. You just don't) Its just absolutely silly to not check if it was wiped before buying.

I'm blaming the parents more for their negligence here; yes, Gamestop should have wiped the memory, but the parents definitely should have checked before buying, or at the very least before giving it to a kid. And then there is the possibility (which has been said here already) that GS did everything right and the parents set this whole thing up for publicity.

This is my thoughts as well on the subject. Sure I can understand being a little mad over this, I certainly wouldn't want my five year old seeing porn of any type, but to cry like that and act like Christmas was ruined is just ridiculous.

And national news as well? Are you kidding me? This feels like someone is just wanting attention over a rather minor issue.
