This is so opposite of me. I feel like so many movies don't have any artistic integrity these days.

I do like an action flick, just explosions and boobs and cursing....But I have to disagree I just think you need to look beyond the hype: I mentioned a couple like Looper, which is refreshing. Lincoln I think will be great. More and more movies are released each year. Some are buried, but, others like Argo get noticed.

I'm very confused now. Did you mean to respond to my post?

Oh I think I see the confusion nm. I didn't explain myself.

If you're a Wes Anderson fan, Moonrise Kingdom was an excellent film as far as I'm concerned. Definitely worth seeing.

I'd recommend that one to anyone that is into 'Zee Wes' scene (I am).

I know it's been like that for 20 years, which is why I have greatly reduced how many movies I have bothered to watch in the last 20 years.

Look at the Batman situation. The current Batman movie set might be a trilogy but how many crappy Batman movies were there in the 90s? That's my points, let the whole batman franchise lay low for about 10 years, then bring it back so it'll be a little bit fresh. Since around 1990 there have been 7 or 8 Batman movies, a number of animated series and some animated movies too. They are overusing the franchise.

Remember this scene from Clerks 2?

The reason this was so funny to me is because what Randal says really hits on how I feel about LOTR movies. Snoozefest!

I did respond to you. I meant to discuss artistic integrity, but right now those words are really big...and hard to understand. Damn, Banner you have to remember that I am man. A man who is drinking right now. A man that well quite frankly, is primitive and not very bright. I love big explosions, and boobs and beer!

The reboots made the difference for me when it comes to Batman. It had been awhile and one was needed. I am just saying that you need to look outside the box.

I LOVE Clerks II and that scene is badass. But I do love the LotR movies and tear up every damn time. I am not a man.

Don't worry. I feel the same way about the LOTR movies.

Nope, you are a man if you tear up every time you watch LOTR.

Also, they needed to reboot Batman after Batman and Robin failed at the BO AND with the critics

I just like movies in general. I do think some reboots and sequels are silly, but as long as the movie is good I'm fine with it being a sequel or remake/reboot.

Weird, I thought Clerks 2 (or any Kevin Smith movie) were insipid, trendy pseudo-avante guarde films that are lacking any punch, creativity, or lasting appeal.

Different strokes, for different blokes.

And if someone wants to downvote me, let'em do it. The fact that I'm alive right now to post this shows that I've lived through worse than that. =D
