Because the couple days difference from the day we don't know yet makes a difference?

Probably not instantly.

I'm not sure about other consoles, but release date delivery was available when I pre-ordered 3DS.

I've already got mine pre-ordered from a guy named Pepe on craigslist. Guaranteed RDD only $999.99.

Word to the wise, folks, because this question comes up with alarming frequency. Amazon ALWAYS has release day delivery available on big media releases, for which the PS4 will certainly qualify. The only times they won't is if it's sold by a third party, which only seems to affect Nintendo hardware. The thing is, that the item page may not show release day delivery available right away. It's usually something they update as the launch day gets closer. In that case, simply change your shipping method and it'll update automatically.

Well does anyone know how Amazon does on pre-orders of new consoles? Are they pretty good at listing new consoles pretty fast?

As long as it's not a Nintendo console, consoles will be available for preorder well before launch. Usually at the same time other retailers such as Game Stop or Best Buy start preordering.

Wow, it looks like Kaz let Amazon put up a placeholder page already.

I'll wait until Black Friday or Sony comes up with a bundle that includes the BC dongle for free.

Can't wait to play those stellar launch titles. Should be worth $700 easy after console, games, accessories.
