Games of 2013 you Feel Might Not Live to the Hype

There's nothing wrong with predicting how games will turn out, so as the question asks, what do you think? Any Games you are worried about?

I have a feeling that Tomb Raider will not really end up being the amazing adventure they are making it out to be. Maybe it will, maybe it won't. I'm also worried about Dead Space 3. I'm not necessarily opposed to co-op, but I hope Dead Space 3 keeps the foundation of the great franchise we've come to know and love.

Oddly enough, Bioshock Infinite.

I don't know what it is, but something rubs me the wrong way about that game...

For me, BioShock Infinite *could* suck, possibly because it's riding on such high expectations. Granted, I think I'm somewhat guilty of that. It's such an ambitious game, that it may fall flat. The rumored production struggles certainly don't help matters.

Yeah, that one.

I expect Revengeance to be awful so that doesn't count for me ... I guess I'm not really worried about any 2013 game now that I think about it. I mean 2013 games that are on my radar and plan on purchasing.

Soul Sacrifice - I have a VERY bad feeling about this one.

Add to that the fact that it's moving from underwater to the upper atmosphere and the delays in production and I just don't know about it....

I personally love the new setting. I'm sick of Rapture.

I don't think Dead Space 3 will live up to hype...but...I haven't really heard any major hype for it. It is supposed to be more "action-y" then the first two, so I bet that will count against it

Not terribly sure all that's coming out next year for sure though.

I'd also like to submit Crysis 3 for consideration. From what I heard, 2 wasn't that great.

I don't think Infinite will "suck" per se, but I think it will end up disappointing a lot of people since the hype has been sky high for this game since E32011. I would be surprised, honestly (though pleasantly), if it's better than Bioshock.

Rapture was cool because it was a novel idea (for video games, at least). Colombia has potential...but I'm already envisioning the Cloud City Easter eggs by the dozen.

From what I can tell, there are a lot of people that are expecting this game to be pretty much a game that defines the video game landscape, or be the new best game ever, or something along those lines. That's where it seems it could let people down. I'm pretty sure this has happened before, but I honestly can't think of any other title that went through this sort of thing in the past.

Forgot about Crysis3...Yeah, I think that one won't live up to the hype at all...

As for Infinite, I have no interest in it, but know a lot do, and are hyping it too much. They're going to be disappointed, no matter how good it is it won't beat the hype its got.

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 3, 2012 10:49:06 AM PST
The problem with Infinite is that if it's "just" a great action game I don't think people will be that keen on it. However moving around on rails looks pretty fun. Actually watch that gameplay video from E3 where you take down the zeplin is still pretty amazing. Still excited.

Are you kidding me? There have been hundreds of games that have been over hyped in the past. Even to a greater magnitude than Infinite.

R. TypO says:
Infinite will cause handgasms and controller shudders, is there really any doubt that the game is going to blow minds, rawk sawks, and squawk hawks? If so, for shame - tis great.

The setting looks immersive, thoughtful, compelling, and the characters, art design, and gameplay all look like some of Irrational's best work.
