Hurt-NIN and remade by Johnny Cash

Although Johnny Cash's version is the better of the two.

Aerials-System of a Down and remade by Amon Amarth

Turn the Page-Bob Seger and Metallica

Even Metallicrap couldn't screw up this song.

Smooth Criminal - Michael Jackson, Alien Ant Farm

Foge, I really like the Gary Jules version of 'Mad World'...that Gears 2 ad is unforgettable due to that song.

Yeah, that ad is what made me download the song back in the day. Really memorable ad.

"Hallelujah"

Originally by Leonard Cohen and covered by Jeff Buckley... and Kurdt Nilson... and everyone else.

Jeff Buckley's version is easily the best.

This list was starting to scare me. Anyway...

'Love Song' - The Cure, Adele
'Smooth Criminal' - Michael Jackson, Alien Ant Farm
'You Really Got Me' - The Kinks, Van Halen
'Hurt' - NIN and remade by Johnny Cash (The Cash version is simply moving.)
'Live and Let Die' - Wings, G 'n R
'Sympathy for the Devil' - Stones, Jane's Addiction
'Stone Cold Crazy' - Queen, Metallica (and pretty much everything else on the OG Garage disc)

No Quarter - Led Zeppelin and TOOL. I'm a big Zepp and TOOL fan, but I actually like TOOL's version better.

Also will second "Hurt" and "Simple Man"

'Whiskey in a Jar' - Thin Lizzy, Metallica (yes, I know it's an old folk song, but those are the two versions I like)

"The Man Who Sold the World" - David Bowie and Nirvana. Tie; both versions are incredible.

Glad to see so many people like Johnny Cash's version of "Hurt." I remember I showed my mom the music video and she cried. It was right after June Carter died, I believe. You could put a lot of different American recordings by Cash on a list like this. "Rusty Cage", originally by Soundgarden, for example.

I'm still a couple disc short in my Lizzy collection. Ughh, the ultimate release editions are what's keeping me from buying them too - can't find the regular, cheaper editions.

I actually don't like his version of Rusty Cage, but I do love his Danzig remake.

I would have liked it a bit more if it was a bit more Mastodony but still a great F-ing song.

EDIT: It was part of Record Store Day last year. They released a 45 where on one side It was the original version and the flip side was the cover.
