Knowing is half the battle!

Edit: Also does anyone have blank spots on their friend's list where people should be?

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 16, 2012 10:06:56 AM PST
Yep. If you time it, you can totally get a kill on that list sliver of health someone has around a corner.

I do!

I can't see you, Guest, or Rami.

This game looks awesome...too bad my only comp that can run this is for my recording only...guess its time to start saving for another build

My best rank so far was 5th. These are awesome tips and props to the game creators for adding those kinds of dynamics to this game. Regarding the blank spots on the friends list, I noticed I got those when accepting more than one invite at a time. It seemed to resolve itself when I sent out my own friend invite to Keji. I also resent an invite to CaptKillsteal.

I think it is just Dragon on my list which isn't popping up. Looks like Timski found a fix though so I'll be trying that here after a little while.

And if anyone is looking for some help, tips, or whatever let me know because I'll be more than happy to help!

I can see everybody but Keji.

It's always the ones you don't see that get ya.

Wow, I was way off. Cap, just looked it up. My card is a GTX 275.

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 17, 2012 4:26:28 AM PST
Heh, I figured it was a little lower on the number end. :)

That card isn't that bad though. It's still a very capable mid-range GPU.

Yeah, but I'd still like to get it upgraded before 2013 closes out. Up until this year I was running most things I encountered on high. Now I have a couple games defaulting to medium. Sounds like a good time for an upgrade. lol

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 17, 2012 4:45:11 AM PST
Yep! I'm planning on a new card late next year. I figure getting 2-3 years out of the one I have now isn't bad.

That's pretty much how I feel. Had better luck with this card than with any other gpu I've ever owned.

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 17, 2012 4:49:26 AM PST
That's largely due to this long console gen, I think. I will say my next card will certainly be an NVIDIA rather than a Radeon. For PhysX.

Hawken defaulted to Medium for me as well and I cranked it up. Your card is similar to mine actually.

GW2 defaults to medium as well, but I put everything on max and increased both draw distance and run supersampling with 30-45 fps.

I thought the same thing, but I've been hearing lately that PhysX decreases performance quite a bit.

GW2 defaulted to high, but I had to manually move everything down to medium when I hit my first dungeon because it was kicking my ass and dropping down to low FPS.

Also, when I say I've had better luck with this card I'm referring specifically to the fact that I've had not one but two cards decide "Meh. Heatsinks? Who needs 'em," drop their heatsinks, and melt.

Well with my new card that won't be a problem. :-)

Also, I ran into an issue with Alice: Madness Returns. The game defaults PhysX on high, which means my card was running it sub-20 fps, and combat was a slideshow. Took me a couple hours of searching to figure it out. That convinced me that my next card would be an NVIDIA.

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 17, 2012 4:59:47 AM PST
Ouch.

Also, default settings are pretty much never accurate.

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 17, 2012 5:23:50 AM PST
I had the same issue with my 6870... I tried everything, and the fps went down to 10-20 in fighting scenes. I asked my gf at the time why it looked like that, and she said it was suppose to be like that. I was like...okay....lol.

So I read through 5 pages of Captain flirting with Guest, is there any actual impressions of the game?

:D

This game is like having Jesus as your fry cook making you a bacon cheeseburger with kobe beef while Iga Wyrwal gives you a private show in the other room.
