I agree...Journalists and Marketers need to have that certain je ne sais quoi...and Michael...Although we've never met in person...I do believe that you possess "that something" that attracts!!!

Journalism is one of those fields where you don't really need the degree to work in the field. You could major in something else, minor in journalism and be just as qualified if, upon graduation, you decide you want to work in a media-related position.

I work in marketing now, which is actually quite similar - journalists are marketers of the news, after all.

Also right for the school paper. Gives you writing experience and you can test out your writing style and see what the feedback is in a relatively risk free environment.
