I'm a sneakerhead and I love retro Jordans and almost any shoe from the Lebron James series. Saturday the 23rd, a pair of Lebron James X called the "Cork" is being released at a retail price of $300. Although this sounds like a lot of money, ebay sellers are already getting bids up to $700 for a presale of them.

You can really make some money off of flipping sneakers. Nike Foamposites retail for $220 and can be flipped for around $400 on up. Especially the ones that have colorways that are in high demand. Retro Jordans can be flipped for around double their price but some of the hotter releases can get more of a profit. I don't collect sneakers to flip them but the fact that so much money can be made off this is amazing to me.

They're actually made out of real cork. I don't think people are buying them for looks but on how limited they will be. The sneaker game is different from the video game market. Limited in the video game market is around 1000 but a pair of retro Jordans could have a run of 50,000 and still easily sell out.

I'd love to wear those old jordans especially the XI's and the white and black with gold top hooks <what's that model jawwaad. I wish they'd sell them in the stores for $200 whenever you want them you could get them cuz they're so perfect.

Other than the money you can make with collecting dust what's the point ? I don't buy them cuz I'd want to wear them daily and that's silly since they are small fortunes.

A lot of sneakerheads actually wear their sneakers. They know regardless if they sit and collect dust they will always be able to flip them if ever needed. I'm more in to the older series of Jordans like series 3-8. 2 weeks ago on Pawn Stars, a guy was trying to sell his collection of 2000 all new Nikes for 1 million dollars but they only offered him $350,000.

i bought a "1st gen" pair of Air Jordans in 1985. hardly wore them at all.

in 1998 i sold them for $500. would have been more, but a lot of the vinyl was cracked.

I love it when I see grown men, not playing basketball, wearing basketball sneakers. Even more hilarious is when they wear the BBall shorts or a tank top to go with it. Almost as amusing as 'full-kit wankers'.

Ohh full uniforms that's a little much lol. I wear Nike Shox, but I'd much rather wear a cool pair of Jordans don't see the problem there; they only changed the sneaker industry forever. The big downside is the hit to our pocketbooks.

I'm 35 and wear basketball shoes everyday. Don't do the BB shorts or anything like that. What should I be wearing, wingtips or sandals?

Chuck's are part of Americana, I think you're good. Just don't make any sudden moves or you might break an ankle :).

Yeah, a couple years back I sold all my old Jordans on ebay and made a killing! They were all used and worn but they all sold, I'm glad I'm out of the sneaker business but I still miss my Jordans!

I know, I get the collection thing. I knew people who have almost every jordan out and have them in glass cases - not really. But I understand.

Collectors will be collectors. I just don't understand, some of them are so ugly.

Chuck Taylors do not count. (only hipsters wear them on the court) However, retro jordans do count.
Also Air Jordan car decals...

I wear BB shoes - while I play BB.

But good money gets you really good basketball shoes. I don't like it when people say "Shoes are shoes", because it's untrue. Generally the more expensive the BB shoe is - the better it performs. Some however, are just for looks.

35 years old and BB Sneakers, every day? Is this or is this not acceptable? This of course depends on the results of the profiling test.

1. Do you have a job? Yes -300 points. No + 600 points
2. If you do have a job, is it in food service? If you don't have a job, do you hang around the mall alot?
Food service job +550 points. Hang around the mall a lot, +350
3. Are you a convicted felon? Yes +1000 points
4. Do you consider yourself a rapper or DJ? +500 points. +1000 if you twitter about being a DJ/rapper -1500 if you are actually a rapper that is not just a wanna be.
5. Are you under 6'2" +300 points
6. Are you Filipino? +150 points.
7. Can you even touch the rim of the hoop without help from a friend? +50 points
8. Are you a high volume, inefficient scorer? +200 points
9. Do you own the movie Space Jam on DVD? +30,000 pts
10. Do you work in an office? - 29,000 pts

BTW I do have a pair of jordans from a few years back, the only surface they have ever touched is a basketball court.

Sneakers are fine on weekends. But 24/7 hoops sneaks ... take the profiling test first.
