Not really, the game just doesn't do a very good job explaining it.

Like Tron said it really isn't necessary, except to get 2 trophies/achievements if that is important to you.

You spent this weekend hunting for pot and mushrooms? Sounds pretty wild.

new Tron says:
You don't need to bother with it. It's not hard, but it takes a bit of getting used to. Thankfully, it's optional.

I just bought Nier off ebay. Is fishing *that* hard?

I found all the pots and mushrooms! Took me 8 hours. My brain does not work well you know. Now I can play the rest of the game, Aragorn's Quest.

KrisCo says:
The part that was frustrating was that they said to push the control stick in the opposite direction of the fish, but I don't recall them ever saying to push back+opposite direction of fish.
But I enjoy fishing now that I know what to do.

I tried Hawken but didn't play much this weekend. Most of my gaming was Persona 4 at a laundromat since my landlord has been promising to get the shared washing machine fixed "this week" for the past few weeks.

Anybody know the trick to not sucking at NHL 94?

I had trouble with that too, until I realized I was fishing in the wrong spot. When you know where to fish for what you need it's easy.

Played more Far Cry 3. Still haven't finished it. Ended up hunting more relics and doing more side-missions.

Played some SSF4AE with a friend. I suck at that game so bad.

Fixed my Dark Souls saves and played through a bunch of the Wintersday events in Guild Wars 2.

I played a few rounds of Hawken here and there. Great game, but I know I won't be able to devote as much time to it as I should.

Played several games of NHL 94 and lost all of them with a score of 0. Can't land any goals for the life of me. Also picked up a little Hawken, and ran through a lot of Cruis'n USA.

AQ has autosave, thankfully. Spent another hour looking for the last brown pot and grey mushroom, no luck, so I crashed for the night. Will try again today.

finished ep 5 of Walking Dead - wow. don't know how I thought it was going to end, but there were some moments that took me by surprise ... an amazing series. great to get the platinum ... played some R & C All 41, All Stars & tinkered with some DL games ... alongside some holiday shopping ....

I finished nothing, but explored a bit in Dark Souls, played into the second world in Demons Souls, got a little Persona4 Golden time in, and finally started playing Krater as well. Kind of digging the post apocalyptic vibe of Krater. There is co-op in that one as well, so now that I've got a computer capable of running these games, I'm down for some co-op action if anybody is interested.

Lol, fishing starts off really hard in the game. When I first tried it was seriously aggravating. After a while the fishing just clicks though and then it's pretty easy.

I just caught my first fish, that was the hardest part of Neir so far....

J. Pardee says:
Great choice! If my backlog was smaller I would play through Nier again.

I have put quite a bit of time into Persona 4 Golden this weekend. I beat the fourth dungeon which was good.

Started Neir, I'm pretty hooked on it.

I finished Farcry 3 as well and I'm back deep into Virtue's Last Reward, game is ridiculous and not always in good ways.

It's almost TOO complication/convoluted.

new Tron says:
Yeah, I haven't played a ton of it yet, but so far I'm really enjoying it. It has a surprisingly good story, and the action is really good.
