The OP just platted the game! Good for him, I say.

I don't know, I don't remember what the exact message was, but it was clear he was angry and thought I was screwing with him or something.

edit: and yeah I didn't really use any spells/miracles the first time I played the game either, except for evacuation of course.

But I started using the weapon buff and soul arrow spells in my NG+, and they are pretty fun.

How did you guys kill those huge fire/slug things in the tunnels of 2-2? I mean aside from running around them? I've tried all my classes of weapons on them (rapir +3, scmitar +4, a huge axe I have, and the club) and I can't seem to get more than 18-20 HP's off of them per swing. Its taking like 10 minutes for me to kill each one. Soul Arrow takes off a bit more, but it drains my magic too fast. This level is a bi*ch!

should just avoid them, it doesn't matter what weapon you use it takes forever to kill them.

the only point in fighting them is for large dragonstone chunks or whatever, but you can just find enough of them to fully upgrade a weapon and get a trophy, you don't even get very many souls for them.

Yeah the crescent scimitar did seem to do a little more damage, but it still wasn't nearly enough to make them fun to fight haha, also make sure you are 2-handing your weapon and attacking them from behind, because then they wont fight back....at least until they explode.

OK thanks striderneo & dustinn. I figured this was probably the case.

You know that you can mostly skip that tunnel part if you go right at the begining of the level instead of left. You have to go to that huge chasm and carefully drop down the ledges. You can fight the flamelurker and finish the level, but you'll miss out on lot's of items.

If you're going for the trophies, you might wanna "not" ignore them because I think they're the only main source for pure dragonstones. You can kill them, it just takes a while depending on your level.

In my current soul level (185) I can just hit them four times with my Northern Regalia.

The game is just addicting, I might go for 818.

Smittey, I actually discovered that last night. Its seems like I've gotten most of the treasures from 2-2 already, so I may just go try and fight the boss, but I do want to get a good supply of those stones that those things drop.

StriderNeo15 says:
you get a pure Dragonstone from a Boss though.

and like I said they can't attack you if you attack them from behind, which in all cases is pretty easy to do, except for the ones in the Lava and I'd suggest passing on them.

The more I read about this game, the more I think it sounds awesome. I am seriously considering buying a PS3 just for this game.

I did. LOL. Great game. Can get very frustrating though.

With so many games being so easy these days, it's nice to know there are at least one or two that offer a real challenge...

Ill tell you what your problem is tron77..... you're a sissy! Lol jk I used soul arrows I believe. Your majic level just might not be high enough. Or maybe it was real arrows....did you try real arrows and only in the "mouth" of the worms it does more damage there then in the body.

he's talking about the bugbears, the giant armored bugs that blow up when you kill them.

In reply to an earlier post on Sep 15, 2010 7:49:03 AM PDT
Me either ddustinn. But keep in mind my first playthrough took 87+ hours! The way the games set up you kind of have control on how hard most parts are for you.

In reply to an earlier post on Sep 15, 2010 7:51:07 AM PDT
Oh the bugbears. I used a winged spear but I upgraded the crap out of it. That way it only took me three or four jabs at each little one the big ones took like 2 dozen as well!

I'd be happy with a kill in 2 dozen swings! lol....its taking me like 50 swings with my axe to kill these bastards. With two hands too!

Yes Prankster...move slowly and be careful. You'll die alot in 1-1. Don't give up.

that, always keep your shield up, and know that being able to roll and run unhindered is way more important than having heavy armor.
