It seems that Vicarious Visions showcased a countdown site for the next Crash Bandicoot title sooner than they thought. This could be attributed to no countdown actually being in place, but who cares? A new Crash Bandicoot game is possibly on its way, at last, and it won't be long before some official word comes out regarding the same.

Concerning the teaser site, you can check out a screenshot of the page that's been doing the rounds lately.

Activision currently owns the franchise and it's been rumoured that Vicarious Visions has been developing a new game in the series. The expected platforms include Xbox 360, Wii U and PlayStation - although the last one isn't really specified so it could be the PS3, PS4, PS Vita or all three.

Will Crash Bandicoot still be relevant in this day and age of grit? Or has Vicarious Visions retooled him in just the right way that other developers just couldn't? We'll find out in the weeks to come.

Crash Bandicoot was spammed to death already. I doubt a new entry in the series would end up being a big deal.

Unless maybe it was a reboot and went back to standard platforming.

It's like 1999 up in here with people being excited for a Crash game.

If it's like the Crash games of my childhood (go straight, avoid obstacles, break boxes, etc.) then I'll pick it up. But if it's another cart racer, meh I'll pass.

I actually played the first Crash game recently. It's still pretty fun!

I was just talking to the gf last night and said, "They should really make another Crash game." She said, "That would be awesome!" Then I see this thread the next morning.

I never got why people liked Crash, Spyro is better. I think it hurt that I played Mario 64 and Banjo before touching Crash. By the time I played Crash I was confused on what the big deal was given it clearly was a step behind comparatively.

I never played a Spyro game, but as far as underrated platformers go, Klonoa takes the cake. Those games are fantastic, and completely underappreciated.

Klonoa is very underrated. So is Rayman on the Dreamcast, the Great Escape. I also thought Magnetic Neo was stellar.

Crash Bandicoot was never good.

Klonoa was spectacular, the remake for Wii was really well done too. Rayman 2 on Dreamcast is one of my absolute favorite games of all time, so much fun.

I personally only got really into Crash 1 and 2 with 2 being my favorite of the series.

Well, if Mario and Sonic are still relevant in this day and age of grit, then Crash could still be.

Who knows, I might buy a PS4 if this isn't on Wii-U.

Sadly, this won't be good. I wish we could've got the Crash game from Renegade Kid. Looked like old Crash in Mario 64 environments. Here's a build they made in a week or two just to try to sell it to Activision: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q4t0Jcmg42s

I love Crash. It is not Mario, but I like it a lot. Klonoa was great too. I am looking forward to this.

I am hoping that they make a great Crash game. If it has platforming on the scale the first two had then I will buy it. I enjoyed Crash 2 the most.

I wanted to like Klonoa but when I rented it back in the day, it made me feel physically ill. I still don't know what it was about the game that caused that but if I played it for more than 10 minutes, I felt like I was gonna pass out. It was the weirdest thing.
