that's gotta hurt ... I thought they were really hoping Zombie U would wow consumers with the edgy adult content on the Wii U .... hmm.

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 17, 2012 9:16:19 AM PST
ZombieU did well with Official Nintendo Magazine, who gave it a 92, but they also scored Red Steel high, which was a pretty poor game. Gamespot, for example, gave Red Steel a 5.5, so I'm willing to trust their opinion on this one a little bit more.

I saw that coming.

82 likes, 170 dislikes ....lol

At 1:22 in the GS review you see half a zombie's body disappear into the wall as it is getting hacked.

"The Wii U's game pad functionality doesn't contribute much to the game."

"Poor entry in the survivor horror genre'

Ouch.

The Fanboy will be strong with this game.

This one seemed iffy from the get-go. The premise certainly sounded cool, but it always seemed like it could go either way with reviews.

So, yeah, pretty much just like Red Steel.

It's sad. Given Ubisoft's track record, especially with launch titles, everyone should go in with hesitation and skepticism, but many fanboys looking to justify their Wii U purchase will overlook its glaring flaws.

Kirksnowsion says:
Is it really GameSpot? Review is not on their site, and this is a random uploader on YouTube. Could just be a decently well-done fake. I'm not familiar enough with the GameSpot reviewers' voices to know.

So ZombiU could still be good, yay!

Lol, just last night I got downvoted to hell when I talked about the possibility of this game being a critical flop

It's Maxwell McGee, it's legit.

Aku says:
I dunno, the dude's strategy of bopping zombies with armored helmets might add to the whole "melee combat is dull" thing he's going for, but it also adds to "this guy is a moron" kinda vibes I'm getting. Then he has bad aim, ignores the explosive barrel by a bunch of zombies in favor of running in circles, just doesn't really know what he's doing, looks like.

EDIT: also, isn't Gamespot those dudes who were too confused by Skyward Sword controls and bashed Kirby Air Ride? Not sure how much I'd value their opinion.

Well that would be because you posted it, not because of what you actually said.

edit: Nevermind. It's AU review. Move along. Nothing to see here.

StriderNeo15 says:
I think he was ignoring the Red Barrel on purpose, as he was trying to demonstrate how fast the zombies are while he was explaining how difficult it was to avoid combat.

And he also showed melee attacking plenty of regular zombies, including one that took about 5 hits to kill.

Ah, I see. I do wonder how this guy with only terribly edited videos in his upload list ended up with a leaked review.

It's never fair to judge a game on a single review. When's the embargo for this one end anyway?
