I think the first Jak easily runs with R&C, but the 2nd and 3rd dropped off majorly. Meanwhile R&C just keeps getting better. I was blown away by Crack in Time. Jak II was really quite terrible, IMHO. I just didn't like it.

Agreed, I love The Precursor Legacy, one of my absolute favorite platformers. After R&C had so much success, ND decided Jak needed guns too, Jak II was one of the biggest disappointments of my gaming life. A Crack in Time is in my top 5 this gen, such a great game, and a seriously moving ending.

Definitely CD Projekt Red. They only released two games, but those two games are amazing, especially the second one.

I'll also add Eidos Montreal and Arkane. Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Dishonored are fantastic.

Dishonored is something I plan to get at some point.

How is JakIII? I actually have never played it. JakII was so darn disappointing I never bothered.

I have no idea, never played it. I quit Jak II very early, had no desire to check out the third one.

LOL. Wow, we match up perfectly on that one.

Jak 3 is not as bad as the second one (which was an abomination) but it's not that great by any stretch of the imagination.

Combining console and handheld games, Nintendo easily.

Probably Irrational Games, although I could definitely make a case for Bioware, Valve, and Naughty Dog.

Naughty Dog - There hasn't been anything they developed this gen that hasn't been outstanding.

Bethesda doesn't get this nod from me. Skyrim and Oblivion were really good, but the crap with the PS3 Skyrim kills any momentum they had.

Nintendo, of course.

Funny all this talk about Jak & Daxter in this thread. I'm playing the trilogy. I loved Jak 1. I've completed 49% of Jak 2. It occurred to me the other night that between Jak 1 and Jak 2 they added lots more things to do but left out the fun. Still, I'm plowing ahead, though I doubt if I'll move on to Jak 3.
