When I was doing the online dating thing, to save money, I'd ask a lady out "for a drink". So if she sucks, you can leave it at a drink. If she's cool, more drinks and possibly leave to have dinner. It worked out great for me.

If you're good at dating anything will work. I've taken nearly all my 1st dates to movies and it works 80%, just make sure your date doesn't have to be home early because you have to do things afterwards to make it an excellent date.

Here's a trick to saving some coin on a first date: Have dinner before your date. Then at the restaurant (or w/e you go), order a SALAD or something else small and cheap. No woman will ever order/eat more than the guy she's with, and you've just saved yourself $20.

Sounds like there is no shortage of checks, so I guess you win some you lose some?

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 26, 2012 12:42:33 PM PST
You took a check? Wasn't you scared that it would *bounce*?

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 26, 2012 12:41:43 PM PST
then it must be true. They can't put anything on the webz unless it's true.

If a girl promises what I referred to in my previous post, guys will pay like $500. I saw it on the interwebs.

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 26, 2012 12:39:46 PM PST
He paid for EVERYTHING?

Ive never had a guy not pay for everything on any date let alone the first date.

It is because of all that awesome.

Real men don't dance. Heck, look at Arnold Schwarzenegger. He can barely walk.

The correct answer is "up the butt"

"and any sort of disagreement on their part is simply naivety or lack of education"

I'm glad to see a man of such discernment on our fine boards. I find the only education a woman needs can be delivered by a sharp and sudden backhand slap. It's important not to hurt them, but rather to remind them that knowledge is the domain of the male. Slapping may not be appropriate for a first date, though. In these cases it's best to just remind them to be silent, and, if they continue to talk out of hand, apologize to the men in the room and leave make your exit without her (especially if you drove).

Only nerds do cute girls. Cute is code for fat and homely. Winners do hawt chix that are fit and toned.

Let's see. Meet at a coffee shop, conversate. Then somewhere you are confident good at like miniature golf or something. Then dinner, more conversate. Finally, the movie.

So, if she's cute, he SHOULDN'T do her? My, the rules have changed.

I may have to redo the dance...

That Emu Kid says:
No, no. Cute should not be an appropriate descriptor for anything you do on your date. If you do any kind of victory dance, it should be something that is likely to get you kicked out of whatever establishment you're in.
