I don't do any of the optional missions for the quest I am on. I go in and just kill everyone.

Do I have a problem?

Also, I understand this is a great game and worthy of 5 stars - but I am getting kind of bored.

me either. the optional objectives aren't as good as in previous titles imo. more of a text-wall nuisance in AC3

There's a lot of cut scenes, reading, etc. I am not even playing the game like it wants me to lol.

Alien Fodder says:
By "optional objectives", do you mean the things you need to accomplish in order to get 100% synchronization on a mission, or are you talking about side quests?

I am even thinking about taking it to bestbuy to get $40. I only paid like 38 bucks plus tax.

Just cannot get into it. I can always rebuy it for 10 bucks or so next year on Steam.

I am almost on the same boat as you.

I always buy into the hype with assassin's creed even though I don't like them... I play them because they say it's different from the last one it's better... and I bite.. and oh surprise it's the same as the last one..

Nah, man. Play it how you wanna!

I think the game is great. Easily my favorite of the main series titles (1, 2, and 3). The optional side quests are pretty much exactly like they've always been to me. Except maybe the courier missions, which are some of the laziest side quests I've seen in a game, lol. Every person you deliver to not only has the same voice actor, but says the same phrase. It's like the devs wanted it to be very clear it was just for padding.

So far the beginning is extremely boring. Besides that i'm seeing that the optional quests are kind of brutal. I'm a perfectionist who does the 100% synchs all the time as well as the guild challenges etc. But having requirements that say you must do all of the optional requirements perfectly in one playthrough of the entire sequence that can be up to an hour or so long is kind of lame. I know they want to add replayability but that is kind of cruel for people like me who not only want the plat but want to do everything.

I was about 4 hours in, and I couldn't take it anymore. One of the most boring start to any game I have played. I just cannot get into the AC games.

I'm about to give up on it. I'm on chapter 6 and it's still moving at a snail's pace. Too many good games to play to bother with this.

Dang, chapter 6 is a decent way in too...

I'm assuming this Haytham guy is Connor's dad seeing how he needs to find that one mohawk lady who kept giving him bedroom eyes after he saved her. Besides that the story isn't all that compelling or the least bit interesting. Benjamin Franklin is pretty hilarious based on the stories he tells when you find his almanac pages. Definitely an upgrade from the boring leonardo.

How far are you? What sequence?

C.W. says:
What part is that? I'm on sequence 7 and I've 100% each mission so far and there hasn't been a "perfect order" constraint...

You need to keep going. It gets much better.
