SNES, but the Genesis is my favorite non-Nintendo system.

Genesis....Since that's what I had.

Also - Sega Channel was awesome.

SNES - Super Metroid, FF3 (6 really), Star Fox, TMNT Turtles in Time (Gem Stone Heist kind of felt lame,..), etc. etc.

Games felt so much more robust on the SNES. And, the hardware was so much better. With the exception of the Dreamcast, Sega generally had weak hardware.

I love SNES and all, however I grew up playing Genesis more, so I gotta stick with it.

I will say that I enjoy the Genesis. Tons of excellent games that I'm still discovering 20 years after the fact. But if it's "SNES vs. Genesis," there's no question that it's the SNES. It's not even remotely close.

I leaned more towards SNES but Genesis was a historically important system.

This is a joke, right? SNES has always been the superior choice. Unless you're a big Mortal Kombat junkie.

SNES had LttP, Super Metroid, FF4, and FF6 to name a few. It would be kinda impossible for any system before or after to match the awesomeness that the SNES had.

SNES fo sho. But the Genesis had some great games too, Shining Force is still my favorite SRPG.

Obviously the first one sucked on SNES. But wasn't MK2 better on SNES than Genesis?

Kruger says:
Yes - the SNES version was the closest to the arcade version.

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 26, 2012 10:02:20 AM PST
MK2 was better on the SNES. The first game was just missing blood, but it almost looked like the arcade on the SNES, versus the blobs of color on the Genesis.

SNES. MODE 7, BABY

If we're talking a Genesis with the Sega CD add-on, then that wins though.

The controls on SNES were really loose and floaty too. Didn't feel right at all. The Genesis version had the violence plus the tight controls. The SNES definitely made up for that with MK2 though.

MK2 was the first game I ever pre-ordered, and lived up to every ounce of the hype I had for it.

Super Nintendo Sega Genesis, when I was dead broke, man I couldn't picture this.

I stubbornly held fast to my belief that Genesis was the better console until I rebought all my favorite 16-bit classics on the Wii virtual console. The only Genesis title I got was Toejam & Earl.

We were always Nintendo people so I prefer the SNES by far. The only Sega game I ever loved was Skies of Arcadia which isn't even on the Genesis.

The genesis had the phantasy star series, which I always loved :)

I had a Genesis, and I still love it, but I love my Turbografx 16 the most.

What about...

SNES vs Dreamcast?

I have never played a single TG-16 game.

That is a shame right there. You should get one of those systems when you're done filling out your GBA collection.
