I want this, but at the same time I don't want to wait for them to make all these games Mac compatible.

I really wish I didnt see how much this was. I really want to buy this now.

Oh nice. Good deal. I'm sick of using disks for all of those games. My copy of Planescape is in the original one in the cardboard fold-out sleeve and it looks like it's about to disintegrate.

Wait, what? It's $21.41 for me.

Oh...um, I think it automatically takes out the prices of the ones I own. I was logged in when I posted that. Sorry!

Just checked on my phone...yeah, that's the case.

No biggie.

Does anybody know whether gog gives you games across all platforms they have available like Steam? Not necessarily for these, which are PC-only, but now that they offer some Mac games, do you get those for both platforms if you get it for one.

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 26, 2012 7:41:56 PM PST
Um, I'm not entirely sure. Looking at my library, games that are on both platforms have a symbol that says "works on: Win + Mac." So maybe I can DL them to either platform?

Wow...were none of these D&D games on Mac?

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 26, 2012 7:45:41 PM PST
NWN2 is the only big D&D game I know of that got a Mac port. Mac gaming was totally dead for most of the mid 2000s.

And now Mac gaming (of a different sort) happens more often than any other type.

Well, Apple gaming, anyway.

Never heard of it.

I think that one's from the early to mid-nineties.

DVvM says:
Al-Qadim was a 2nd edition AD&D setting as sort of a "Here's how you can play D&D in an 'Arabian Nights' type setting" (similar to 1st ed's extremely popular "Oriental Adventures").

I'm sure there was a video game set there, but I never played it. I have most of the Al-Qadim modules though.

I'm familiar with it--one of my favorite classes in 3.5 is an attempted port from Al-Qadim, the Sha'ir. I know I downloaded an abandonware Al-Qadim game that must have come out in the early-mid nineties, though I never got around to trying it, though it was probably a dungeon crawler, like most early D&D video games.

Welp, downloading these and SR3 now. Will be downloading Vessel and Civ III Complete later.

Not a bad starting library.

Are you going to be getting a Windows PC at some point?

Posted on Dec 27, 2012 6:41:35 AM PST
Both Baulder's Gates were released on Mac, because I have them on disc. They were OS9 though so they quit working when apple dropped classic mode from OSX. I also have a great copy of Tie Fighter that doesn't support USB sticks so there isn't an "i" era Mac that can play it.

Got Windows for Christmas, and I managed to get it set up on my Macbook last night. Officially running dual-OS now.

Let's just hope my computer doesn't strangle me. (Windows provably hates me.)

@Oyer:
I see, the original was released a little before I really started getting to be an active Mac gamer. I think I was only really playing Diablo and Descent II around that point with any regularity.

Hey, do I need drivers to use my third-party 360 controller on Windows? I'm avoiding poking around the internet too much on the Windows side right now because now that it's MY computer with Windows on it I see viruses EVERYWHERE.
