I enjoyed RE5 but didnt play any other resident evil games so I have no expectations of an RE game but am choosing between Hitman and RE6, I'm leaning towards RE6 though cause I dont really like stealth games. Any suggestions?

Get Hitman. RE6 is that bad.

Well for you i'd say get RE6. But for anyone else i'd say get Hitman because the RE games kinda suck.

RE6 is awesome. I really liked the story and all the characters. The way all the campaigns cross over is really cool. The controls are much better than RE5 as are the visuals.
I would highly recommend this game to any fan of the RE series.

As long as you aren't expecting survival horror, RE6 isn't that bad of a game.

Yea not really expecting a horror game as RE 5 wasnt really a horror game either, just seems like 6 is so much more hated than 5 was.

has anyone expected survival horror in a RE game since 4?

JO MOMMA says:
with all the DLC that is being released in RE6, i would wait a few months and get the Gold edition like RE5.

4 more packs were released today on RE6 with a new harder mode and MP maps.

Thanks JO but I have a $20 off pre owned Gamestop game and after using that both Hitman and RE6 would be like $15. Thanks for the suggestions

I don't have the patience for RE games. Even without the "survival horror" aspect like in RE 5 and 6, the lack of ammo makes the game an exercise in frustration.

I don't know, Resident Evil 4 definitely felt survival horror to me. I agree that the series has abandoned it's roots by now, however.

I like the re-make of the first game as well, but I can't stand the old Playstation games. I know they are older and it's not really fair to judge them, but they're utterly laughable by today's standards. I'm not saying that all games from the era can't compete with games these days, quite the contrary, (after all, I still play System Shock 2 regularly and still find it to be an amazing game), but the old Resident Evil games do not count.

I hope it is good as I may be getting it for Christmas. If not, then if there is a Gold editions as Jo Momma said, I can wait for that.

It was horror... Doesn't qualify as Survival though. In survival you try to avoid encounters, in RE... you kinda look for them.

yes!

just playing, honestly i have no clue. i haven't played an RE game since Nemesis. of the two, i'd lean more towards Hitman, though i'm not a huge fan of that series.

I'm a huge RE fan, and I was hugely disappointed with RE6. Unnecessary QTE events, extremely linear gameplay, repeated boss battles and forgettable characters kept me from having much fun. Graphics are excellent, though.

Wasn't a big fan of RE5 either but I still played the hell out of it in co-op. After completing RE6 (Ada Campaign and all) I have no interested in giving it a second playthrough. I'd suggest you wait for it to drop under the $20.

I thought the demo was great, but I haven't like RE since C: V.

"repeated boss battles..."

This seems to be a Capcom staple...

Sure is, even the first DMC just repeated the same 3 bosses 3 times throughout the game.

I hope Capcom takes Cliffy B up on his word to Fix Resident Evil.

What does Cliff Blezinsky know about survival horror?

I'm sure he doesn't know much, but at this rate it's worth a try!

There are parts of the first Gears that are creepier than anything from RE5 or 6.

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 18, 2012 11:09:35 AM PST
MrFoxhound says:
That is most likely the case as RE4 and 5 and 6 are all action games, but that doesn't mean that Cliffy knows survival horror. I assume that him "fixing" the RE brand means returning it to its roots.
