I think Evan Jenkins is a pretty cool guy. Eh gifts games on Steam and doesn't afraid of anything.

I came home last night to a shiny new XCOM: Enemy Unknown code on Steam.

Thanks dood!

Enemies may be unknown, but I think you know who your friends are!

Wow, that is quite generous. I heard that video games pay him $120,000 to be in his collection.

Well, it probably should be said that it was a *free* XCOM, lol. Anyone who has XCOM and preorders Bioshock Infinite has a gift copy to spread around to his/her homies at the VGF. Don't let those filthy aliens take away our funding...er, freedom. Get XCOM into the hands of your fellow gamers!

Edit: You guys are awesome. I may have to balance the scales of karma by eating a small puppy dog tonight for dinner...a cute one, maybe a puggle.

DVvM says:
You didn't already have XCOM?

So Xcom was unlocked already? I remember it being a tier 3 reward.

Wait, you did?

Since when are you buying games before me?

Some aliens just want to watch the world burn.

I've had it since November.

Thanks dood. Just did the tutorial.

In reply to an earlier post on Mar 20, 2013 5:33:09 PM PDT
Hmm. I thought you generally didn't buy games close to launch.

In reply to an earlier post on Mar 20, 2013 5:34:40 PM PDT
That's how awesome X-COM is, gets those who don't normally buy new to buy new.

In reply to an earlier post on Mar 20, 2013 5:35:45 PM PDT
Wait...if you bought XCOM for full price then you're not really DVvM. Are we seeing the advent of a new, Fake DVvM? The mind cannot conceive of the damage such a being could do to the fabric of this forum.

DVvM says:
I didn't say I bought it for full price, I bought at a modest discount, but I'm surprised that I've had this game for months before Nate did when it was Nate who was trying to convince me to buy it in the first place.

I am all for a Fake DVvM.

Or a Fake [Everyone].

Well I had said I enjoyed what I saw of the demo at PAX East last year. And I may have said you would like it, but I'm not so sure I really tried to convince people to buy it.

I still had The Witcher 2 on 360 to champion last year.

I'm not entirely convinced yet...

How about we have you prove you're real by solving a complicated equation that somehow factors in aspects of the Deep Roads from Dragon Age.

"A cart full of dwarves leaves Orzimar traveling at thirteen mph. Their path is bisected by a slow moving Bronto laden with a crate full of mithral waffle irons and traveling at nine mph. How drunk are the dwarves if x is the number of beers consumed and y is the amount of nug meat consumed before the meal?"

That sounds a little like math. Have at it!

DVvM says:
There's really not enough data to solve the problem. I mean, how much time has passed between the meal and being stopped in the intersection? How much do the dwarves weigh?

Seriously, Evan is the man! I would have his babies.
