GameStop president Tony Bartel has said that demand for the PlayStation 4 has been quite strong since it was announced, according to Develop. GameStop is running a program that has people sign up to be the "first to know" about any new information or pre-order listings for the PlayStation 4. More than 600,000 people have signed up in just three weeks.
"With only a glance at the PS4, gamers are excited and eager to know more," said Bartel. "Within just a few weeks, more than 600,000 people have signed up, showing strong demand for this new console."
"The level of enthusiasm we're seeing from GameStop customers demonstrates how the promise of PS4 is resonating with gamers, and we're looking forward to unveiling more about the new platform in the coming months," said SCEA president and CEO Jack Tretton.
Sony announced the PlayStation 4 last month at a media event in New York City.
