Ice King says:
Well, you see, we were kind of hoping for 3.5 billion dollars in cash and investments. So really, you guys dropped the ball. We should be docking your pay for failing us. But we won't, Merry Christmas!

He's happy that his company is successful!?

*Gasp* That bastard!

Activision's days are numbered. You can't sustain a company forever on 1 brand, as Tony Hawk and Guitar Hero proved.

If they don't invest in more quality content, they won't be able to last. Sorry, Prototype 2 and Nascar aren't games that set the world on fire.

You don't say? :o Now my whole world view has been turned upside down.

...I suppose you've forgotten about a tiny game called World of Warcraft and/or Diablo 3?

I'm pretty sure that everyone has forgotten about Diablo 3 by now.

Honestly, with the kind of money they are making, I would be doing the exact same things as Kotick in his situation.

Yes, and now they're dead, just like the Call of Duty brand will be one day.

They better hope Bungie's game doesn't turn out poor.

You wouldn't build your company up with more than 1 brand? Why would you want to risk the future with milking just 1 brand?

Posted on Nov 8, 2012 11:00:59 AM PST
Maybe MW4 will be the first CoD this gen to underperorm. And by "underperform" I mean "not break sales records"....but still sell a lot.

I would have made enough money to not care.

Obviously you know many things about Activision's endeavors.

Because the brand produces more milk each year.

Ice King says:
Exactly. By the time the Call of Duty series starts to show signs that people are no longer buying it they'll have made enough money to buy the next thing they can milk. Or just retire on a massive pile of money.

That Emu Kid says:
You're also forgetting the money-printing machine that is the relatively young Skylanders brand.
