I can't wait to play this. The only problem will be deciding on what system, the U or the PS3. I'm ashamed to say that the trophies may be the deciding factor although Double Fine is publishing on the U so it'd be nice to support them more. Sega is publishing on the other 2 consoles.

You getting it on day one, Tron? I'll be waiting a while since I have plenty to play right now, but I'll get it sometime.

DVvM says:
It's the game Ron Gilbert (of Monkey Island) fame came to Double Fine to make. It tells the story of a sentient Cave that attracts adventurers promising that in the cave they can find the one thing that they truly want.

The game is basically a platformer with classic adventure game puzzle solving, where problems have multiple solutions as you choose 3 characters out of a set of 7, each of which have unique abilities you can use to bypass obstacles.

new Tron says:
Probably not. Like you, I've got plenty to play and a nice backlog to work through. I definitely want to get it eventually though!

Already have it pre-ordered on STEAM. I may give away a few to support D-fine so wishlist it if you want it.

I'll enjoy it for one day, until it becomes a stinking multiplat.

I was interested in this, but I read the preview impressions for it were weak.

My thoughts exactly. I would normally buy it on PSN or wait until PS+ gets it for "free" or something, but since the Wii U is getting lonely instant purchase.

I'm guessing it will be a decent to subpar platformer, but with excellent humor and personality. I'll be pleasantly surprised if it has compelling game play to go with the Ron Gilbert humor (unlike Deathspank, which was funny but...kinda weak).

Kirksplosion says:
Pretty sure (and this would make sense for Gilbert) it's much more of a puzzle game than a platformer. I think the promotional videos have made it look like more of a platformer than it is.

Who are you on STEAM, Kirk? I must have you added, right?

Kirksplosion. And I don't really know - I've added enough VGFers of late that I don't know who's who anymore, ha.

I really enjoyed Deathspank! I played both of them back to back and loved every minute of it!

Funny as hell, but I was spoiled on the game because I was playing Torchlight at the time and the gameplay in TL was making Deathspank seem incredibly lame by comparison.

Edit: I only played the first game, though, are the rest better and still funny?

Don't play the third. You can definitely tell Gilbert wasn't involved. First two? Good. Third? Kinda sucky.
