No judging here; guys, gals, hermes, trannies.....what is with the bombardment of seasonal candles (in particular the fall/winter ones)? B&B Works and Yankee are wh**ing out coupons for Christmas "flavors" like crazy! This put me in a position of needing like an 87 persuation skill NOT to have my wife put up the tree already (it worked btw. Got her to postpone for at least 2 more weeks)!

So, yeah, what are your favorites of the season, if you buy them?

I'm a sucker for the Balsm/Cedar ones because we have a fake tree and it reminds me of having a real one when I was little.

Maybe I need to pick some up and get my candle on. I could stand to have my house smelling nicer. Not that it smells bad. It just doesn't smell like much of anything.

Definitely helps get the smell of dude out. Or in my case this weekend, bacon. Plus, the chicks dig it.

Bath and Body works had a big sale on their seasonal candles this past weekend.
It was buy one get one free and my wife bought the whole store out almost.

I have a good friend who has an obsession with Yankee Candle, so I get the occasional candle from him. I actually really like them, and they make the house smell all Christmasy, which I love. Also, my sister-in-law sells Scentsy, so we get TONS of that stuff from her. Needless to say, we have tons of fragrances to choose from.

Yankee:

Mistletoe-xmas/winter
Harvest-fall
Balsam and Cedar-xmas/winter
Macintosh Apple-fall
Sun and Sand-summer

A good year around, manly fragrance is Midsummer's Night.

You think I'm joking, but I have seasons labeled on my candle shelf. Yes, I have a candle shelf.

I guess this would be counter-productive then:

My favorite is Silver Bells. I don't know what it is exactly but it smells like a Christmas tree.
I also like most of the cookie scents, which all smell the same despite having different names.

Haha. Awesome. I didnt mind my apt smelling like bacon, but it made me want bacon just continuing the loop forever!

Frankenzubaz says:
It's a vicious cycle. smells bacon, wants bacon, eats bacon, lather, rinse, repeat.

I'm a vegetarian, and even I like the smell of bacon. When meat eaters tell me they don't like bacon, I'm like, "what the [blank] is wrong with you?"

Uhm, I don't think Frontier Vegetarians exist. That's just a myth perpetuated by the Produce Industrial Complex.

I think it'd be a nice gesture at my funeral to surround the room with "bacon by candlelight."

..." it was just the way he wanted to go..."

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 5, 2012 10:54:52 AM PST
yeah I used have a fire pit at the old house, but don't at the new. I miss it so much. This one was a must for me.

MrFoxhound says:
There is another brand called Wood Wick that has, duh, wooden wicks, and they have a fireside scent, but when you burn the wooden wick you get that crackling sound. It's pretty awesome.

I had often thought of making "Man-dles" for peoples' mancaves.....then I realised that I think these already exist. It'd be scents like: Pizza, Beer/Whiskey, Leather, Fresh Mowed Grass, Motor Oil, Roasted Peanuts, Firewood, Cigar/Pipe Smoke.....maybe even Fart-In-A-Jar or Hooker Spit, if you're feeling funky.

and yes, I apologize for the "WAY-off-topic-ness" of this subject. Just curious if anyone else goes nuts (or is forced to go nuts by a spouse/partner) on holiday/seasonal candles.

Does hooker spit smell different than regular spit?

No.

No, don't answer that. I've decided I don't actually want to know.
