I beat the campaign last night on the PC and really enjoyed it. I thought the story was surprisingly interesting and well told. It's too bad we'll probably never get a sequel. I was curious what everyone thought of the MP and if the community is completely dead or not. The core gameplay is good enough for what seems like a good time with a lot of different play styles.

Still only a few hours in. Is the MP like a wave based horde mode? Or is it PvP?

Both actually from what I've read.

I really enjoyed the gameplay and the story. It gets better as you go along too. Havent tried the MP yet.

I've only played the Horde-style MP, and had some fun with it.
I never did beat the main campaign to that game. Another entry in the dreaded backlog.

they have both.
Two horde modes with 4 player co-op using good guys or bad guys as playable characters and the MP is 10 vs 10 i beleive

I thought it was kind of cool though. Real boss fights are kind of rare in shooters nowadays. That one with the Ork Warboss was pretty lame.

And the ending absolutely sucks. That has to be the worst video game ending of all time.

I really enjoyed Space Marine and hope there will be a sequel. The gameplay was quite enjoyable and I thought the story was interesting.

To answer your question, at least on the PS3, the multiplayer community is still there. It is actually a lot of fun too!

Yeah, I played it on normal. I just wanted to breeze through it. It was much better than I expected.

FOGE says:
Yeah, I think boss fights are mostly gone, bc gamers wine about the difficutly. It was visually cool, like you said.

The game was fun but I thought the story at the end was extremely lacking. I don't know anything about the Warhammer universe though so I might have enjoyed it more if I did.

Sadly on 360 its all but dead. The MP can take awhile to get matchs sometimes. If i had to guess i would say maybe only a thousand people at best. They only seem to ever play basic core mp game. Ive yet to be able to play any of the new maps because nobody ever ques up for them. I did play the horde mode a few times its kinda fun.

and they charged $10 for them with their seperate play list which was stupid.

Well if it's dead on the 360 I imagine it's probably worse on the PC.

I had no trouble getting into a Horde-style game a month ago, on PC. I haven't tried since.
Ping is less of an issue with PVE than PVP, so playing with people world-wide wasn't terrible.

Now, something like the new MoH:Warfighter is a totally different animal. That's an FPS that usually has between 500 and 1000 people online on the PC. Playing an FPS against someone from freaking Japan or Australia is never going to be a consistent or very fun experience on a server in Chicago, for example.

Agree, decent game. MP was fun. Heard it has died somewhat, dunno.

Is the ending outrageously bleak? Because if it is, welcome to 40k. Lol.
