...on heroic.

I enjoyed the game; 343 did a great job for the most part.

I did have a few beefs, though, which I will clarify in my forthcoming Amazon review.

Anybody else beat it? What did you think?

I enjoyed it. It felt a tad short but I enjoyed it. It didn't feel like what you were doing was ... as important .. as the previous games.

Agreed. The plot was mildly convoluted...but maybe I just need a day or two to digest the game.

I felt the plot was the least convoluted one yet in the entire series.

Pick 34 says:
The story wasn't very good, should have dug a little deeper into chiefs humanity and the villain's story via the terminals should have been been cutscenes and backstory. It was also very short and the latter end of the game the levels started to look the same. Also too many switch flipping sections.

This is one of my primary beefs: there were way too many "run here, press that" missions.

I felt the length of the game was about right, though. Then again, I beat it on Heroic so it took me about 8-10 hours.

The terminals unlock videos on Halo Waypoint which show a lot of backstory.

It was good - I'm still not done - but I noticed I'm looking forward to it now being over.

I was hoping for more cinematic moments like in the beginning when you're climbing up that elevator shaft with all the things falling down on you.

Meh, I don't want to have to go to some outside app to get the back story for the game...they should have it all included on the disc. When I find a terminal it should play me a cut scene or audio (like ODST) or unlock a video in the "options" menu or something.

"I was hoping for more cinematic moments like in the beginning when you're climbing up that elevator shaft with all the things falling down on you."

You mean more QTE's?

Did that really count as quick time events though, you weren't mashing buttons in that sequence...

I mean more of the presentation - extra first person.

Pick 34 says:
It should have been backstory via cutscenes, the terminal videos add a lot of depth to a storry that was poorly lacking it.

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 29, 2012 6:46:20 AM PST
I think it's fair to call it a QTE; you had to move the left stick on que to avoid failing.

I am a fan of QTE's, but not so much in the Halo series. It was just the intense cinematic moment that I liked, and now that i progressed more through the game it now slightly feels out of place.

Im actually playing ODST at the moment.
It was in my backlog and I thought I'd get it out of the way before I started 4.
At least its really short so I should be done quickly now.

Despite the almost universal hate among Halo fans for ODST, I thought it was pretty fun. It certainly wasn't as bad as it was made out to be.

Its ok. I'm not digging the Rookie missions that require the night vision to be on. But the rest of the squads missions have been pretty cool so far.

I thought Reach was a much better game, but I'm enjoying it still, so its ok in my opinion.

i enjoyed it but the main gripe of fans was the second disk and short game so it felt like an expansion. I didnt mind since i never had halo 3 and i can play all of the DLC that others paid for. Even though Gears 2 Horde was awesome, ODST brought vehicles with bigger maps

I played through the campaign on legendary and thought it was awesome.

How was it on Legendary, DP? Did you do it alone or co-op?
