Why was there a 20.00 price drop while the ps3 still has it around the 40's ? Was there a difference? Thinking about getting it.

Rofl. As much as I hate to say it, that seems likely.

Probably an inventory issue.

The game has sold as well as expected (or better) on the PS3 but not as well as expected on the 360, at least for whichever retailer is maintaining those prices (potentially this one).

EDIT: Yeah, on Amazon at least the PS3 version is available only from 3rd party sellers, while the 360 version is $25. I wonder if I should buy it.

Well &$&@ it, good as any to get it while the getting is good. Wow what a glaring difference lol.

Not sure, but it's an excellent game, definitely one of my picks for GOTY contender. If you're thinking about getting it, you should.

I'm pretty sure you can beat the game without using guns. So yes.

I know, but isn't it pretty short?

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 24, 2012 3:04:13 PM PST
I find that hard to believe since there are twice as many reviews for the 360 one on Amazon. I know you don't have to buy something on Amazon to review it, though it's usually a good indicator as to which platform has more people playing it.

I think 10-20 hours, maybe 8 if you're fast. So shorter than Deus Ex.

I am tempted to pick this up too. But may wait, I have so many games....X Com is now 25 and I may get it and then return the other one I purchased. Also, Lego LotR is 30 bucks.

DVvM says:
Well, it's not a function of "does the Xbox 360 version sell more than the PS3 version" it's a function of how many copies Amazon orders on each platform. Internally they will try to predict how many copies they will sell on the PS3 and how many copies they will sell on the 360 based on how well similar games have sold on the two platforms (and so these numbers will likely not be the same.)

It's conceivable that Amazon underestimated the demand on the PS3.

I spent like 35 hours on Deus Ex:HR.

True enough. Generally, I do find that retailers order in more Xbox 360 copies than PS3 copies.

I got it for $25 on the PS3 here on Amazon. I guess they just sold their quota at that price. Borderlands 2 was another that either had more XBOX versions or did not sell as well for it on the Amazon Black Friday sale.

I got it. I also got XCOM because it was 25. I will return the one I got for 35, and get my Bing Amazon credit back. I can probably pre-order FCIII now. Then I am DONE with buying games.

I have it on 360 with nary an issue. Brilliant game.

I had about 55 hours between both playthroughs. The second was maybe 10 hours shorter since I was using a totally lethal style.

Did you like the game endings? I did.

DVvM says:
I did like the endings. I almost like the "blow up the base" ending the best, even though suicide is loathsome. You're right that being stealthy and non-lethal makes the game take much longer, which is probably also true about Dishonored.

By the way, I just got The Witcher 2. On what difficulty should I start?

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 24, 2012 6:50:20 PM PST
Did you get the Foxiest of Hounds and Pacifist achievements?

Normal. There should be a sort of arena-mode tutorial. This suggested that I play the game on Easy (the second time, since the first time I played this tutorial did not exist). Being my second game, I went with Dark difficulty. It feels mostly the same, honestly. Remember to dodge enemies, and get the passive skills that reduce the damage you take from rear attacks as soon as possible.

Let me know what you think. I honestly believe you will love this game.

DVvM says:
I did get both Foxiest of the Hounds and Pacifist.

Okay, I'll start on Normal. I was thinking of starting on Dark since it gets its own unique quests and items (and I'm a completionist) but that's probably not a good idea.

Knowing you, you will play this game at least twice. There is a significant story branch that makes it worth two playthroughs.

As long as it's not a story branch where there's a clear good/bad choice to be made I'll definitely go both ways.

Like New Vegas was worth 3 playthroughs to me, but not 4 since I couldn't bring myself to side with Caesar, nor are games like Fable or Infamous worth playing through again for an "Evil" playthrough.
