Totally uncalled for.

Always be wary of anyone claiming to have all the answers, especially in reaction to a tragedy, when hearts and minds are the most vulnerable.

K Archer says:
I agree, they can.

But if you know that a day is coming that people are going absolutely insane over and there's a very real chance many people are going to try to do as much damage as they can, is "being a little more cautious" doing things you can put off for a day or two really better than...putting optional things off for a day or two?
I'm not saying don't leave the house or anything...just that maybe avoiding the popular places you can on the 21st isn't a bad idea...

J. Pardee says:
I would definitely agree that people being more observant would probably help somewhat. I think we become more and more desensitized and cold to other people so even something is glaringly wrong and obvious becomes undetectable to us since we just don't care.

'Oh, I see a really strange lumpy guy walking down the street that is acting odd. Why should I care since he doesn't have anything to do with me'

Can't say I'll do the same, while this holiday crowded malls and other popular areas are probably targets for these psychos I'm not going to stop living my life the way that I have been because of them. All you can really do is be observant and a little more cautious but at the end these tragedies can happen anywhere.

Was he brandishing these openly, or did he have a coat on (it is the Northeast, after all, and it gets cold)?

In crowded places, you can't always pick someone dangerous out. I know I'm going to be avoiding popular and crowded places as much as I can til after the holidays; places that should something happen would attract a LOT of news and cause chaos

That's probably the most ironic part about this, I mean this holiday is supposed to be a heart warming holiday that is supposed to bring out the kindness and humanity in people but instead it seems to bring out the psychos and doomsayers most times which in itself is a little depressing.

"I'm still scared that its not over yet..."

To rip-off Dune: "Fear is the mind killer"

Don't be afraid, be vigilant and be prepared. Do you wonder how no one noticed a dude with a rifle and body armor strolling into a school? So do I.

It's true.

That said, this has been the worst year in the last 30 in regards to mass shootings.

Sometimes I can't believe that, especially when you read or see a heart breaking tragedy of twenty children barely ten years old for most of them murdered by a F@!#$#@!!@# piece of S#@#!!@ like Adam Lanza a coward and F@!##!@ garbage!!

Because we'd prove him right, at least in the eyes of those who agree with him.

Also because murder is wrong.

I agree wholeheartedly.
I'm just thinking it might be a little early to make light of the situation.

Because we have a nonstop 24 hour news cycle, thanks in large part to the internet. Violent crime has actually DECREASED in the last 30 or so years.

Maybe, if I offended anyone I apologize. I just wonder why it always has to be kids.

Maybe a little too soon?
