This is yet another incident, not the one from March:
"As a shooting took place at a school in Connecticut early on Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, another violent incident took place half a world away earlier that morning."

You have to understand. Newtown is a very large town, one of the largest in CT. It has 4 Elementary Schools, 2 Middle schools and a High school, as well as a handful of private schools. It's also a very peaceful town, and it's not a city. You won't find cops around every corner or anything like that. When I went to school there we didn't have guards at all, they weren't necessary, and nothing like this has EVER happened in my town's history. As a Kid i think I would feel uneasy if I saw a cop roaming the halls all the time.

but on top of all this, according to the news the gunmen (Seems there was more than one) came prepared. they had 4 different weapons, and bullet proof vests on.

I'm not sure where you live mate, but it's very different here it seems.

Can anybody even remotely explain why anybody would want to shoot children? This is why I am pro death penalty. :(

This is one of the many reasons I'm Pro Death Penalty.

At least 10 children confirmed dead :(

Stories like these make me hate the fact that my wife works at an elementary school.

Any rumors/thoughts as to why the shooting took place?

NEWTOWN, Conn. (AP) - A shooting at a Connecticut elementary school Friday left 27 people dead, including 18 children, an official said.
The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the investigation was still under way. Another official, speaking on condition of anonymity for the same reason, said the gunman at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown was killed and apparently had two guns.
A law enforcement official in Washington said the attacker was a 20-year-old man with ties to the school and that one of the guns was a .223-caliber rifle. The official also said that New Jersey State Police were searching a location in that state in connection with the shootings. That official spoke on the condition of anonymity because the source was not authorized to speak on the record about the developing criminal investigation.

Hell is real...ask the parents of these children.

The most recent numbers released show 18 children and 8 or 9 adults dead.

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 14, 2012 10:39:47 AM PST
Supposedly he had "ties to the school" or an issue with the principal...

I read there were two shooters, one still at large. (FYI, not joking)

Thanks Capt. I will be curious to hear more about these ties/issues.

"One shooter is dead and a manhunt is on for a second gunman. Police are searching cars. One shooter was described as a 24-year-old armed with four weapons and wearing a bullet vest, sources told ABC News."

I can't even imagine this horror for the parents. I fear this for my nephews(I don't have kids). One of my nephews goes to preschool that just has little fence blocking someone from getting in, and the fence is always open. and there are only women in the classroom.

Holy crap you're right. I was looking at the date on the photo.

It was 28 in the last one during 2010. WTF?

The worst part about this is that in michigan. Yesterday actually they just passed a law that allows guns in public areas, like schools. The person would have to go through more trainning, but they are allowed to carry inside school, malls, sporting events, etc..

I am not sure if another person with a gun in that situation would have made it worst or better, but after something like this and what happened at that mall earilier this week. Times are getting rough.

It's... i can't say funny... i can't even find the word. but most of my life i lived in Newtown, And now I only live about 1 hour away from it. This is one the last things I would expect to see happen there. There are so many nice people living there... and it was such a quiet town...

How the hell could this happen... if I could bring that gunman back from the dead as a mindless zombie... I would... just to shoot him myself... is that wrong?
