In-N-Out does a good basic burger, and their fries are very fresh. We don't each fast food much, but I do like INO on occasion. I like their hamburgers because they're the classic thin patty.

The title of the thread isn't best, merely, favorite.

P-Terry's is good and inexpensive. Beats out all the well known fast food burger places, that's for sure.

I have a soft spot for Mighty Fine burgers, myself. 1/2 lb burger with bacon, grilled onions/jalapenos. Too good.

They didn't all close down. They still exist in the limited context of the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Several of the rest areas still have Roy Rogers. Their Gold Rush chicken sandwich is awesome, and their roast beef beat out Arby's any day.

I guess I just interpret that as taste, not size. If I want 1lbs of burger I could just order more than one.

Besides the obvious choice of 5 guys, i would add: Steak-N-Shake, Freddy's Steak Burgers, and of course, In-N-Out burger. (Honorable mentions: Good Times and Red Robin)

Yeah, the idea of that much meat on one bun repulses me, but it's a matter of personal taste I suppose. :)

They have smaller sizes. But the beef is fresh and everything. It's not dry. It's flavorful. They have an elk burger too.

Just because it's big, doesn't mean it can't be good, too.

If you're ever up in the Dakotas, JL Beers makes some fantastic burgers and the one in Fargo is located right next to an abortion clinic. It's a win-win!

If eating fetuses is wrong, then I don't wanna be right.

A local chain where I live called Bill Gray's. The classic cheeseburger is called "The World's Greatest Cheeseburger" on the menu and I have to agree.
