I know there have been rumors about Matthew Vaughn (of Kick-ass) and Colin Trevorrow (of Safety Not Guaranteed) both seem like interesting choices.

Definitely JJ Abrams. He did an amazing job with the Star Trek reboot without even being a fan to begin with so I'm sure he could do the same - if not better - with Star Wars since he admitted to being a SW fan.
