The thought of Solid, Liquid and Solidus joining forces is too much awesome for my brain to handle... Solid's heart, Liquid's combat ability and Solidus' genius all combined would make them unstoppable.

Nicos says:
They would go into a 20 minute FMV movie before they fought and then the Battletoads would just come along behind them and kick them so hard that their feet turned into boots and they would bounce off the screen and die.

A customer says:
Yes, and then an hour-long FMV will commence in which it's revealed that their deaths was a plot by the La-li-lu-le-lo, and the Battletoads played right into their hands. In the end, the Patriots win, and both LET and Battletoads lose. Then after the end credits, it's made known that what the toads thought were LET were just more clones of Big Boss. Meanwhile, Snake, Liquid and President Sears are kicking it in the Caribbean, slamming chi chis and tag-teaming mamacitas. I win.

Mario & Luigi always.

next question- who do you prefer to play as? I always pick Luigi when I have the choice, except for in Mario2 since he jumps weird.

Nah, they'd be inherently doomed to fail due to the collective stupidity of their names.

MrFoxhound says:
Really? You can think of a better way to name two clones who are exact opposites of each other?

I really think that Hot Snake and Cold Snake would have been pretty lame.

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 20, 2012 7:35:05 AM PST
Yes. I'd give them actual names.

MrFoxhound says:
They have actual names, these are their code names. The military uses code names.

I'm not saying Solid and Liquid are terrible code names by themselves, but when paired, and especially when linked to "Solidus," it gets outright silly.

MrFoxhound says:
But Solid and Liquid work well together. They are both clones of the same person and are opposites, right down to their genetic level, that clash with each other and can't mix.

Solidus works as well because he is the complete clone. The mixture of both the dominant and recessive traits to faithfully recreate Big Boss.

"Hot Snake and Cold Snake"

That's what she said.

MrFoxhound says:
Yeah, I was waiting for it. I guess I should have used Light Snake and Dark Snake...

That's what she said kind of works there too.

Giggity.

(Salt and water are a solid and liquid, respectively.)

(And if Kojima used the word clone to describe SS and LS, I don't think he knows what that word means.)

Making themed paired code names, especially when one of the names is "Liquid Snake," is silly. And you can't tell me you don't think Solidus Snake is a stupid-ass name. It doesn't matter how much or how little sense it makes in context, because names (and code names) exist specifically to be taken out of context. Next you're going to tell me that Revengeance doesn't sound dumb.

I have a lot of respect for Kojima, but he (or whoever he gets to come up with names for him) can get really bad at naming things.

This is a super true story, bro.

I don't agree with you at all on the names.
