Really?! I love that movie too. It's pretty low budget and it has a lot of minor mistakes in it, but the concept is wonderful, an atypical hero as a lead, and a setting that rarely comes up in film. The music in it is amazing as well.

I saw most of Goon a couple weeks ago. I need to rewatch it in an environment where I can actually pay attention, but what I saw I really enjoyed.

I wasn't a huge fan of Melancholia, but I might have liked it better if the disc wasn't skipping big chunks every 10-15 minutes. Getting to see Kirsten Dunst bewb was a plus.

Pulp Fiction.

That's a joke, right?

In reply to an earlier post on Jan 16, 2013 10:02:51 AM PST
haha, that was my favorite part of the movie. the first time i saw it, i was lost and didnt really follow that well. after watching it a few times, it grew on me.

goon was great though. Sean William Scott did a great job in that movie creating such an awkward character

QT's segment was clearly the best part of that whole movie.

It has to be. If I was to pick a unnoticed QT film (and Four Rooms has already been mentioned) I'd probably go Death Proof but even then I think a bunch of people saw it. It's clearly a step down from his other works but that might be intentional.

I guess I would've gone with Jackie Brown if we're talking less known Tarantino films. Considering how he is straight up associated with Pulp Fiction to this day, I hope he's joking.

The Goon! Great hockey movie.

See, I don't think of Jackie Brown because I assume everyone is like me and owns it on VHS, DVD, and Blu-ray.

The Goon is freaknig awesome - took me completely by surprise.

I really like that movie but it seems most other people haven't seen it. Maybe it's just because it was the follow up to Pulp Fiction and had less immediate effect or something?

Naw, I would've gone with Jackie Brown as well.

same here. i was expecting a typical stupid comedy movie going into it. the last hockey movie i enjoyed this much was slap shot

That's the thing - felt like a perfect extension of that movie, like a spiritual successor or something.

You want to see some real awkwardness with Seann William Scott, check out The Promotion. It's a pretty dry comedy about him and John C. Reilly jostling for a promotion at a grocery store.

I think he's a pretty underrated comedic actor. He's not in a lot of stuff, but he never fails to get a laugh out of me.
