Now that we have a HD Nintendo console, will we see Nintendo HD collections?

I would love to see HD remakes of old Nintendo games. If they go this route I would just have them take out a monthly percetage out of my pay like a 401K because I would just be buying into them anyways.

I really hope they do this.

I can see Nintendo cleaning up the big Gamecube titles like Wind Waker and Twilight Princess, and I'd love Skyward Sword in HD without motion controls.

It wouldn't be surprising at all for Nintendo to make HD collections. They seem to love to rehash games so this would be right up their alley. I love how Sony creates the HD collections since most of them were games that I was never interested in before but now I have the chance to play them. Nintendo would be wise to do a similar thing for the Wii U.

As Brandon pointed out though, Nintendo doesn't like to drop the prices on their games so it might not happen due to that reason.

F-Zero GX in HD would be ridiculous. Still impossible, but it would be soooo pretty.

I agree. I even wrote a SwapNote with many of those same points.

I'll be happy if they release the original versions of Wind Waker and Luigi's Mansion on the VC. Those are the only 2 "must play" Gamecube games I've never played.

Dokidoki- I agree I started Wind Waker and had to return take it back because of grades :(

I think we will get HD re-releases eventually but different games will be available in different formats. Some Gamecube games may be released on Wii U Virtual Console with HD graphics or new control methods (I would like Mario Sunshine). Other games might be bundled or released solo as a retail release with HD graphics, Wii U control methods and new content (like Mario 64 on DS or LoZ:OoT on 3DS).

I did this with starfox with my son. It looked okay, but I put a few other games in and they looked awful.

in all seriousness I'd like to see them make a 2D HD metroid collection. With new art and all.

I believe the point was that touchscreen controls for the Celestial Brush + HD visuals would be awesome, and this would be possible on the Wii U. I'd love to see that too.

They sure will. New Super Mario Bros. U is the HD version.

The Wii version has waggle controls for attacks, which are kind of terrible.
