The Xbox 360 installs aren't "mandatory" in the sense that you put the disk in and it automatically installs or the game won't run. All 360 games will run out of the box.

(yes I am, as long as they stay offline it's not illegal. Not until it affects someone else)

you and I ninstationbox can play our GC games on the Wii no problem. But the Wii U doesn't support GC Discs, so those who just have a wii U will be able to get them digitally, including some of those harder to find GC games.

Mine can't, My xbox will not let me play a game without installing it it just crashes within 10 minutes. It's a piece of junk, like the 3 xboxes that red ringed before it!

I have nothing against the Xbox, mine have just been awful, and I think I may honestly skip the new Xbox whenever it comes out.

Yikes, that sucks. I haven't had a single problem with my Xbox's, I'm sorry to hear about your problems. I would be pretty annoyed with MS too.

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 29, 2012 8:52:55 AM PST
Also add to that my HDD is 13gb... i can only install one Maybe 2 at a time

I haven't actually bought anything for the xbox in over a year. It collects dust... as does the kinect.

Well no one said they were mandatory but there are required texture packs that should be installed in order to enjoy the game how it is intended to be. As for the Wii U, hard drive space shouldn't be determine just by the launch titles. I'm sure there's going to be software that will benefit from having disk space.

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 29, 2012 8:55:40 AM PST
of course, and of all the systems I think it has the easiest method of increasing HDD space.

i don't think your going to ever see a real pokemon game, and not just a spin-off, on anything but a handheld.

I'm so glad I didn't buy into the Kinect, what a joke.

I was just clarifying, I didn't mean to seem brusque.

I think you give Nintendo too much credit. I don't expect much third party support and Nintendo will be lean when it comes to extras. Just my guess at the moment. :)

2 Wiimote $80, 2 nunchucks $40, two Classic Controllers $40, 1 Pro controller $50, 1 Ethernet adapter $20, 1 game $60, one 2tb HDD $80 and my $350 WiiU,

= $720

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 29, 2012 8:58:59 AM PST
Yeah I feel kinda stupid for buying that, it was a great idea... but it was wasted. Same with the Move... heck i didn't even care that much for it on the Wii. A couple of nice sports games, a couple of Dance games that I never got and one good game (Child of Eden) and one good Arcade game (Fruit Ninja Kinect) that was it.

Noooot worth it.

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 29, 2012 8:59:33 AM PST
why did you buy 2 classic controllers?

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 29, 2012 8:59:52 AM PST
Back in the 80s and 90s, my NES and my Super NES both had overheating problems.

After about an hour or two of playing, they would periodically just blip off and on. It used to piss me off something fierce if I forgot to save my game.

However, I never had that problem once the N64 came out or after.

Lucanus says:
Wii Remotes are $50, not $80. But yeah I get your point, for non Wii owners the U is expensive. Though I think you went completely overboard with a 2tb HDD, just a personal thought. :)

Edit: Never mind, you spent $80 for two Wii Remotes. I see.

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 29, 2012 9:01:18 AM PST
better question is, why does Nintendo make you purchase different non-motion controllers for non-motion games.

Posted on Nov 29, 2012 9:01:49 AM PST
I don't recall any game requiring a classic controller

Lucanus says:
Huh? The classic controller is only required for VC games. You don't need one for any Wii and/or Wii-U game. All Wii games will work with the Remote and Nunchuck, all. :)

No offense intendede, but I am still confused and question why wifi on the U is a problem. I don't get that one my friend. :)

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 29, 2012 9:02:56 AM PST
Couldn't you use a game cube controller for them as well? Maybe I'm thinking of just Brawl.

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 29, 2012 9:02:56 AM PST
Wiimotes cost me $40 a piece so its $80 and the 2tb HDD was only $15 more than a 1tb.

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 29, 2012 9:03:31 AM PST
honeslty considering that you would only need maybe an extra 100GB... I think 2 TB is a bit too much :p

Right now I am sticking with my 40 gigs (32+8 SD card) until Nintendo gives me a reason to need all that space. I still think people are expecting something Nintendo won't be delivering. Most games will be stand alone, I don't see that much DLC on the horizon. :)

Also Douglas it seems a bit unfair to add in a $60 game to the U Deluxe, considering it came with a game. I only added in a game for the 360 and ps3, because it didn't come with one. I actually bought 3 ps3 launch games, but only consider one of them to be a required cost. But to each their own. :)

got mayo?™ says:
NES was a durable console sure. Back then it wasn't hardware that was the problem, it was those damn cartridges. Blow my lung out trying to get a game going.
