Preordered.

I know there's not a chance in hell that this will be easily available in your average brick-n-mortar store...

I have pre-ordered as well. I really like Ys games, and I can't wait to get this one.

Well, I didn't see the thread a few days ago so it's lucky that Garion put this up so I can get in on this. Just what I'm looking for.

I didn't know about this game coming to the PS Vita till a few days ago. It is definitely looking good.

It didn't cross my mind it might be in short supply, but since it is probably a niche game, I'll preorder it to be on the safe side.

Is Valhalla Knights 3 worth preordering (or buying for that matter) ?

Valhalla Knights 3 - PlayStation Vita

I haven't played any of the past games, so I'm looking for some input. If past games have been any good.

Yeah, I don't picture anyone going to Best Buy and finding it. I'm sure Game Stop will have only a couple of copies.

If I recall correctly, the PSP Ys games were nigh impossible to find. I got Ys Seven through the PSN Store as a result.

There is an endless supply available on PSN. Stop being hoarders.

Will there be Premium Editions of these games? Going to pre-order all Xseed games going forward....

StriderNeo15 says:
There were premium versions for Ys Seven and Ys: Oath in Felghana so that could be a safe bet.

Same for me. I just found out about this game a few days ago.

Could anyone enlighten me as to what it's about? What's the gameplay been like in the previous entries?

It's an action-JRPG with a very wonderful charm and old-school appeal, only not as unforgiving. Not sure how to describe it...

I have never played the Ys series but I am all for getting new Vita RPGs. I have a few questions for the people that have played the series.

I know it's an Action RPG, what is the combat like? Something like the Tales series?
How is the story in the series?

StriderNeo15 says:
I think a lot of the games are different, this looks kind of like Ys Seven, so I'll just compare it to that.

It's pretty much a hack and slash, in Ys Seven you had a party of three(most Ys games you just control one character IIRC) you control one at a time and the others don't really do much. The combat kind of has a rock paper scisors feel to it, you have slow attacks, which beat strong powerful enemies, fast attacks, which beat flying and quick enemies, and normal attacks for everyone else. Each character you get has their own type of attack, so you need to cycle through them often depending on who you fight, as you build up combos you can do more powerful attacks, and thats about it.

The story isn't anything incredible, but I thoroughly enjoyed Ys Seven's narrative, one of the most fun games I've ever played, you should give it a shot.

It's not really like the Tales series, since there is no break for combat, you fight enemies directly on the field.

Awesome, sounds like I would like it. Does the story play out like a regular RPG or is it more mission based around a central hub?

In reply to an earlier post on Feb 12, 2013 8:07:21 PM PST
StriderNeo15 says:
Regular RPG, towns/worldmap/dungeon rinse repeat.

If you have a Vita you should really grab Ys Seven dude.

Would you say its more like Kingdom Hearts type of ARPG then? I guess we'll wait till more vids are released showing the gameplay.
