Beauski says:
For example, watching competitive Starcraft matches and/or Halo or COD multiplayer matches?

Maybe it's just me, but it's boring.

Those competitive Starcraft matches are so fast-paced that it takes all the fun out of the just becomes a chore.

I watch other people play MMO's just to see if they forget to turn off their camera before masturbating.

R. TypO says:
Watching nerds suck the oxygen out of a room with constant snortles and wheezicals doesn't sound like a good time.

Competitive gaming is for nerds who want to be bros but lack the ability to attract girls.

Multiplayer is no fun to watch.

Single Player I love watching almost as much as playing. Especially when the controller is in the hands of someone who knows what they're doing.

That Emu Kid says:
If it's someone I know, yes. Particularly in competitive games that can be stressful to play, watching my friends play can be more enjoyable than actually playing the game, myself.

If it's strangers on the interwebs, no. The only exception being if I'm trying to learn new strategies or something in a competitive game... I still wouldn't say I "like" doing that, though.

There's a modicum of truth to this....

Like Emu said, if it's watching my family try to play Wii, yes that's hilarious. As far as watching nerds on the internets, oh god of course not, I don't have hours and hours of my time with nothing better to do.

Umm... Ew?

This begs so many questions that I don't want to know the answers to.

I don't like watching competitive multiplayer. But I don't mind sitting around watching a friend/relative play a video game. Especially if they're playing something cool.

Depends on the game and who is playing.

I like to watch gameplay videos to get an idea of what a game is all about, but watching it like a spectator sport? No way.

It bores me, but then I'm pretty ADD.

So it raises the question: Which is sadder, competitive gaming or competitive eating?

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 29, 2012 12:24:57 PM PST
Can they be equally sad?

I'm pretty sure there is an entire layer of hell full of nothing but monitors broadcasting live twitch streams. If you don't have anything better to do than watch someone else pwn noobs you probably don't have much to live for. Find a cliff.

They would have to be played with neverending AC/DC tracks for it to be my personal hell.
