I like RPG's that don't have random battles or at least not Final Fantasy like where the screen annoyingly jumps and flips to a boring scene.
Any Playstation RPG's that have something similar to below?
I have sensory issues which takes too long to explain so games like Chrono Trigger/Cross were right up my speed due to being able to see the enemies and even Earthbound you could see the enemies which once you engage you have the rolling HP counter. Despite the crappy battle *art* if you can call it that the system of engaging enemies is unique and who DOESN'T love the exit mice?
I love how in Earthbound you can start a battle depending on the DIRECTION YOU ARE FACING where if you sneak behind an enemy you launch a surprise opening attack and get a bonus turn or the other way if they sneak up on you and it's like
*Black Antoid and it's cohorts launch a surprise opening attack!". Black Antoid A calls for help and Black Antoid D joins in the battle* Black Antoid B attacks. SMMMMMMMASH! 40HP lost.
Those are the kinds of RPG's I like not generic battle systems like Final Fantasy where it's the same thing over and over again.
Earthbound can be grinding too but you are never in the same spot for too long.
Does the Play Station have any non random battle RPG's like these using their own schemes?
