Peter says:
You get these messages from your less intelligent friends?

It is PS3's 4th Birthday and for all Sony and PSN users to celebrate, we are offering $50 on PS Store to everyone who spreads the news to all of their friends (including the one who sent this msg). Once you do this, an alert will pop up on screen with a unique code to enter at Accts Management/Redeem Codes, but you have to send this msg to all your friends first."

Most recent spam I've seen, so I thought I'd post it here just in case some of you are a little less than gifted above the shoulders and are sending these out, lol.

4 years and Sony wants to bring out PS4? What happened to Kaz Hirai saying "PS3's Lifespan is 10 Years"?

Peter says:
It's actually been more than 6 years now. 10 years with competition seems optimistic. It will be 7 years when the PS4 is released. That aint a bad run, especially considering the PS3 will likely still be supported for another 5 to 10 years.

Yeah, I get at least one a week. My favorites were the ones supposedly from Kevin Butler.

Hey says:
So this is just the next step in the evolution on chain letters then? It's like those e-mails I used to get on AOL that would promise animations of the Taco Bell dog or whatever?

Lol, the consensus is I should delete the offender. I see no reason not to take that advice, so I shall do so.

I get lots of spam usually young kids or they don't know its a scam but I give everyone a warning before I delete and block them they never do it again when I do so it works out. It was worse on 360 lots of fake spam which led to my profile geting stolen. Be wary my friends.

Will pop out an unique code? Bah, I got the unique code that came with the message without needing to forward messages. Never tried. Who knows trying that might get your PS3 compromise.
