I'll always take art over technical, though I do think Halo 4 looks fantastic, but I'll have to wait until I play it this week to properly judge it.

Is there any confirmation from players that Halo 4 is native 720p? I know 343i said it was way back, but no other Halo has offered native HD.

"To know if a game is good or not, there are many ways to know that without having to play it yourself."

Right. But when somebody says a PS3 exclusive is bad, you complain that they haven't played it. You frequently (without playing them) say that 360 exclusives are bad.

So, which is it? The issue here isn't your argument itself, which is perfectly valid. The issue is that your argument changes based in what platform the game is exclusive to.

I.Flores says:
Dood, I only say a 360 exclusive is bad when it has overwhelmingly negative reviews (like most of this year's Kinect lineup)
You'll never see me saying games like Halo 4, Gears 3 or similar games suck just because they're on the 360, out of spite. (You know, like donnie or McClane do for PS3 exclusives)

Dukeshire says:
So that makes it right because McClane who is illiterate says something? Come on man. Besides, I like a lot of the Kinect games. Star Wars and Kung Fu and the dancing games are fun.

If I wasn't so lazy I would consider a Kinect. I just hate moving around while playing games. I only occasionally roll around when my fur gets itchy.

Didn't you post that Mario galaxy might be more overrated then the Halo games?

I did. Why?

Good point. Halo has always been that way, though.

Flores doesn't like kids' games. He think they'll make him seem less mature, somehow.

Right. Wrong.

And you're one of the people frequently posting the bad reviews for those Kinect games--games you have no interest in on a system you have no interest in owning. It's like you take it as a personal victory when a Kinect game does poorly.

It's not just when people say PS3 exclusives are bad, though. You even get upset when people call them mediocre.

You don't get it, Flores. The reason me, and so many others on this forum, constantly call you out on this stuff is because we KNOW that you can do better than Donnie, McClane, and Holly. We know you can be reasonable and fun to talk to. That is exactly why it's so disappointing when most of your posts are about this fanboy crap.

Sorry. Why do you not like kids' games? Some of them can be pretty fun. Like Costume Quest, or the LEGO games. Or a lot of Nintendo games.

Not even LBP Flores? I would easily consider LBP the best Sony exclusive series introduced this gen.

I think Infamous, Uncharted, Heavy Rain, Folklore, Heavenly Sword, etc. are all better.

Expect your jaw to drop at least once on every level of Halo 4s eight-mission campaign.Of course, gorgeous graphics are only one responsibility a consoles killer app must bear. Perhaps equal to Halo 4s monitor-melting visuals is its bar-none, best-in-class sound design.

Games Beat:

http://venturebeat.com/2012/11/01/halo-4-is-the-next-chapter-not-the-next-evolution-review/

Halo 4s stunning visuals represent a quantum leap for the series and a serious bump on nearly any other game franchise youd care to name. This game is endlessly beautiful.

NZ Gamer:

http://nzgamer.com/x360/reviews/1768/halo-4.html

Visually, the game is a feast for the eyes. It looks, quite simply, like a next-generation game, leaps and bounds better than anything else on consoles today. If you've been gradually moving away from consoles, in favour of a high-specced PC, you absolutely must take a look at Halo 4 in motion. The technical boffins at 343 are geniuses, quite simply, and Halo 4 stands as the Xbox 360's crowning visual achievement.

OXMUK:

http://www.oxm.co.uk/47230/reviews/halo-4-review/?page=1

The most beautiful shooter we've played. The proprietary engine powering it all leaves those of rival games for dust, including DICE's grubbily good-looking Battlefield 3. The lighting system in particular is a triumph, adroitly mingling natural light with the fizzling greens, whites and purples of energy bolts. Characters, weapons and vehicles, meanwhile, are so heavy with detail they look positively corroded. It's here that Microsoft's monstrous franchise investment is most apparent, and the results leave us not so much curious about as frankly terrified by the thought of what 343 can achieve on the next generation Xbox.

Destructoid:

http://www.destructoid.com/review-halo-4-233109.phtml

The visuals, lighting, and art direction are phenomenal too, adding tons of detail and pushing the Xbox 360 to points I haven't seen in any other game on the console. Comparing Halo 3's visuals to Halo 4's is night and day, to the point that the former looks last-gen in comparison.

Videogamer:

http://www.videogamer.com/reviews/halo_4_review.html

The engine underpinning this grand exhibition has also been on the receiving end of some serious upgrades, its lines of code and script producing what will likely be the Xbox 360's most luscious visual spectacle.

Xbox360Achievements:

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/game/halo-4/review/

Quite easily one of the best looking games on consoles with some of the most visually impressive cutscenes around to boot. Its a visual masterpiece, from the textures and particle effects to the ambience of the environments and the attention to detail.

Game revolution:

http://www.gamerevolution.com/review/halo-4

I also just need to take a minute and gush about this game's visuals. This is hands-down the most gorgeous game you'll find on the Xbox 360. Microsoft has made it clear that this is the most expensive game they've ever made and it shows in the production values. From Halo 4's jaw-dropping facial animations to its vibrant and super-detailed landscapes, this game is downright stunning.

Machinima:

http://www.insidegamingdaily.com/2012/11/01/halo-4-review/

What can I say about Halo 4 that hasnt already been seen? The visuals have been massively overhauled to make this the best looking Halo, if not the best looking 360 game to date..The new location of Requiem provides a compelling mix of location types familiar from other Halo titles, like jungles and deserts while adding new Forerunner settings that look absolutely stunning.

Metro Gamecentral:

http://www.metro.co.uk/tech/games/916636-halo-4-review-running-rampant

The graphics are by far the best the series has ever seen and such a massive leap on from Halo Reach it almost feels like its on a different console. The detail and lighting in particular are exemplary, and for the first time a Halo title is in the running for the best-looking game on the hardware.

Gamespot:

http://www.gamespot.com/halo-4/reviews/halo-4-review-6399288/

These galactic machinationsare brought to life vividly by Halo 4's stunning technical prowess. From sweeping panoramic vistas to claustrophobic jungle clearings, the environments are rich with detail enhanced by thoughtful lighting and sharp textures.

Gaming Nexus:

http://www.gamingnexus.com/Article/Halo-4/Item3735.aspx

you battle in spaces ranging from ancient Forerunner tombs to wide open landscapes; they all look great. That is because the visuals powering this game are among the best seen on the Xbox 360 to date. This game looks awesome and, at times, amazing.

StrategyInformer:

http://www.strategyinformer.com/xbox360/halo4/2049/review.html

Plus, it looks amazing. Say what you want about how old the 360 is as a console, 343 has taken both its engine and Microsofts hardware to the limit, and combined with the new art style the vistas are just wow.

C. Code Central:

http://c****cc.com/xbox360/rev/halo4review2.html

Graphically, Halo 4 stands above all the rest. There were several moments where I found myself gawking at the realism of the character models. Couple this with the hardly noticeable difference between the cutscenes and the actual campaign graphics.

XXLGaming
http://www.xxlgaming.com/staffreview.asp?gameID=1057

"This game looks fantastic whether it's the cut scenes or the actual gameplay. From start to finish everything is crisp, colorful and falls in line with exactly what you would expect from such an iconic franchise. The environments are detailed and gorgeous and there is also plenty of homage paid to the Halo lure. The HUD looks superb and really puts you in the Chief's uniform and makes you feel part of the game. I can't say enough about how this looks and the animations that coincide with the game."

As you can see we have some saying it's the best looking console game and others saying one of the best looking. The bottom line is that it's definitely up there and the comments above simply make people who try to laugh at Halo 4 as being the best looking console game look foolish and insecure. PERIOD.

Also when you have some comments saying it looks next-gen and making comparisons to a high spec PC well that is an instantaneous claim that this is the best looking console game. Funny I don't recall anyone saying stuff like that about UC3. And yes from what I have seen it is the best looking console game.

DEAL. WITH. IT.

Nope, the 360 has more slightly better looking multiplats while the PS3 has exclusives that look even better. =]
