Wii U codenames worth knowing: system Cafe, CPU Espresso, GPU/SoC/etc. Latte, ARM secure processor Starbuck (we made that one up).

1.243125GHz, exactly. 3 PowerPC 750 type cores (similar to Wii's Broadway, but more cache).

GPU core at 549.999755MHz.

we're calling the WiiU security processor the Starbuck (vs. Starlet on Wii). And it seems to be about equally vulnerable, too

sorry, I'd rather not talk about how I got that yet. It doesn't involve leaks, it involves Wii U hacks ;)

Great less than a month and there might already be homebrew. These people need to stop. Nintendo already does not charge and have an open eshop policy what more do they want?

And the point of this is....what?

There are some people on the VGF who care about system specs more than fun games. The point is to let them know what the clock speed is so that they can tap/not tap accordingly.

same with my local stores, Nintendo did a much better job of meeting the demand this time around. Of course most will see this as "They aren't selling SYSTEM IS A FAILURE"

One should not be hacking systems.

That's illegal.

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 29, 2012 5:11:10 AM PST
So would you tap that?

Ha ha, I made a funny.

I don't, serves them right trying to cheat people out of money.

I hope all of them lost money on this.

I'm of the opinion that people should be able to modify their own legally acquired personal property but I do agree that hacked consoles should not be allowed on gaming networks.

Is it? I thought it's only illegal if he then actually does something with it. Just tooling around in there is OK as long as you don't care about warranties.

I agree. And the system makers have every right to make it as difficult as possible to hack their products. Game on!

I think there is a DMCA thing that allows for hacking phones but not game consoles. That may need to be updated. I am not aware of any jurisdiction in the US where it is a crime to hack a console.

..... That's it?!

1.24 ghz?

Nintendo.... Y U NO CAP CPU AT 1.21 GHZ!? This is the future!

I am disappoint though. 1.24 ghz on a tri-core is... incredibly slow. Phones have faster processors than the U does.

But phones are associated with a network and there is FCC stuff involved. I thought you could always hack a phone as long as you were OK with keeping it a wifi only device. With consoles I'm saying hack away but just don't be selling it, using it for piracy, or connect it to Live/PSN/whatever the wii network is called.

I think I might pass on the Wii U altogether until it hits around 149.99 and has an extensive library.

The Wii U clock speed isn't registering on my care meter. I shook it and everything to make sure it was working.

1.24 ghz is insanely slow... I just don't get it. The U is going to be considered outdated about six months from two years ago...

No matter how we to...

Le sigh.
