I don't think banning the media would solve the problem. These forms of media still constitute freedom of speech. It would just be better to make it undeseriable for stores to sell this type of media or tax citizens who purchase this type of media. Violent media is a want and not a need so if people don't want to pay the taxes, then they don't have to buy the media.
