So about 3 or 4 years ago I smashed by big toe. I don't remember doing it but I must have. Ever since then my toe nail starting growing crazy. I have like 3 or 4 nails growing on top of each other. It looks like a seashell. I obviously have to have it removed. I am ascared. My poor toe.

Steel my resolve VGF. GIve me the confidence I need to get this done.

(I apologize to anyone who was eating breakfast while reading this)

The worst part is them pumping your toe full of novocaine. Once that kicks in, you won't feel a thing as they scrape away at the hole that was once your toe nail, killing off the nerves one by one, so it doesn't grow back even more mutated. They give you option not to watch, but I had to get my money's worth.

I had my big toenail removed. It wasn't supposed to grow back, but it did. Now it's all freaky and chunky.

Yeah I read a little about the process. I don't mind the shots .. I'm used to shots. And I assume they spray it with so much cortisone that you don't even feel the shot.

That has typically never been the case for me whenever I've had to have a local anesthetic, but you get used to the sensation. It's not really so bad.

Why don't you just set up a little stand in front of your house in the summer time? You could charge $10 an hour to cool off the neighbor's kids with that fan you call a toenail.

Well .. due to MS .. I don't have all the feeling in my feet anyways ... lol. So it's like a natural anesthetic.

You are mean and vindictive and your words are hurtful.

(that's not a bad idea)

I was being serious. These are tough economic times, make the best of it.

You could also rent your toe out to the circus.

Actually, the shots hurt. But this was a decade or so ago, so I'm sure they figured something out, by now.

But as for the procedure, I didn't feel so much as a tickle.

I had my big toe nail removed last year -- it has grown back pretty nicely. But the procedure was painful. There's a reason for that old connection between nails and torture.

See this is what I needed. A little VGF camaraderie.

I once had mine split down the middle so it would grow properly. There's some really interesting colors underneath there, some of which I can't accurately describe.

Oh I've had nails fall off before .. whether through sports or working construction ... it happens.

I had an ingrown toe nail removed a few years ago. The shots of novocaine are brutal. I have 6. Afterwards I didnt feel a thing and it was easy after that.

FOGE says:
They spray it, but you ll feel the shots. I dont mind shots either but shots in a toe are much more painful than the arm or whatever.
